We asked for milk they provided us multiple times, they cleaned the mess our kid created whole day. Always available on one ring. Prayer at Harmandir Sahib on the 400th Guru Purb day with all the festive atmosphere was divine. Prayer at Durgiana temple was mesmerizing. Shraddhanjali at Jalianwala Bagh was emotional. It’s a lovely city with history and not really on the tourist circuit (which made it less crowded!!). We wandered through the old city, it’s bazaars and monuments and it gave us a good sense of the city and it’s highlights. However, the heritage walk that is recommended across the board has no supporting implementation, sadly. Some of the monuments are in disrepair and resemble a haven for addicts while others are in a state of restoration which is a promise for the future. Signage to all these monuments are excellent but no opening times etc which resulted in places being closed. No adequate info on having to book a heritage trail which seems to be volunteer run effort and not a routine one. I don’t think anyone stays in Patiala for too many days to wait out the much touted heritage trail to happen!
