The Jewel of the Aegean
Known for its fine white marble used in many ancient sculptures, the beautiful island of Paros is a popular tourist destination with golden sandy beaches, charming fishing villages and archaeological sites.
White houses, blue sky and picturesque alleys characterise Parikia, the capital of Paros. Guests staying there can enjoy lively nightlife, excellent accommodation and fine local food. Built during the 4th century by St. Helen or Constantine the Great, the imposing church of Ekatontapyliani (the Church of 100 Doors) is the oldest in Greece.
Located in the north-eastern corner of the island, the small town of Naousa is an ideal place to savour fresh fish and admire the authentic old fisherman’s houses. The nearby beach of Kolimbithres is very impressive thanks to its small sandy coves and transparent, blue waters.
Overlooking the sea, the mountainous village of Lefkes is situated amid hills with old windmills. You will love the traditional small taverns, pristine alleyways and neoclassical buildings of this small village.

It was definitely the highlight of our week long trip to Greece. Everyone at this hotel is lovely. They are all so friendly and helpful and I really enjoyed getting to know some of the staff - I miss them already! Everything about the Poseidon is so thought out and intended to make your stay feel luxurious. The breakfast is phenomenal with so many options and the staff remembered our coffee order the next day and brought it out to us before we even ordered. There are plenty of options for relaxation: spa, two pools, lounge chairs at the beach, lounge chairs overlooking the water, and two bars. We spent an entire day here our first day and didn't leave the hotel. Unfortunately, I cannot understand all the negative reviews. You are given a very warm welcome by the receptionist Anastasia and everything is explained and shown to you. I had a room with a direct sea view and it was just wonderful to wake up in the morning and look directly at the water. The room was good and very clean. The breakfast is very good and extensive, there is something for every taste, whether sweet or salty. The restaurant in the hotel is really delicious and highly recommended. The staff in the restaurant are very friendly, helpful and accommodating. I also had the honor of meeting the owner of the hotel in person. Parikia is a great location.
Parikia is a great location. More authentic and less busy than Naoussa. Shopping and restaurant's were great and in my opinion much cheaper than Naoussa. We loved spending 6 nights in Paros. We rented a car. It was stick shift. A tad scary for me. But it was doable. Paros has great beach clubs. My daughters booked horse riding one day and then walked to the nearby town. After we met at a great beach club, we had lots of great dinners and sunsets. Fabulous shops. We drove to Leifros one day. We like Paros best. Taxis were outside the hotel. Also there was a transport office two doors up that arranged rides to beach club for us and picked us up. A beautiful location. 4 main restaurants by the marina plus a Japanese restaurant. We tried them all. and all were great. The couple of cafes there were great too for breakfast and lunch. Also for drinks. Remezzo even did Sangria which i couldn't find anywhere else! We walked down to cactus beach and had a sun lounger which was quite expensive 50 Euros. We had lunch at Cactus and that was great. Near cactus on the hill is a restaurant called Mango, please visit everything is freshly made even the ice cream. The town is really nice.
The town is really nice. It has a little of everything you would need for a getaway on a Greek island. The grocery store is nearby, public transit terminal is located here so access to the rest of the island is possible and easy. There are a number of little restaurants, cafes and shops you can look through and enjoy. I wish we had more time to spend and walk through the town but the time we spent was great. There is a small park by the bus stop if you have kids and want to entertain them for a bit. This is a beautiful area, though quiet and with limited dining options. Great beach (Golden beach) with good service and reasonable prices. For a relaxed stay without lots of tourists, this is a good place. You will have to take a bus ride (1 hour) or drive from the main port in Paros to get to this less visited part of the island. This is a large complex of camping, small economy pods and concrete bungalows in pretty gardens. Very basic accommodation but adequate. There was a swimming pool and loungers that looked pleasant, although we didnt stay long enough to use it. It was great value for money for a short stay or for families who dont mind being outside of the main towns in Paros.
