- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 102 reviewsI love the Cuan Boutique Hotel in Strangford. It is beautifully renovated with lovely decor. The room was lovely with the softest mattress and very quiet. The meals are just so delicious and the staff are wonderful. Besides all being friendly, helpful and happy they are great communicators before my arrival. Free parking out the front and nearly next door to the car ferry to Portaferry. So convenient.Guest review byMerindaAustralia

There is a fish and chip shop next door to Cloughey beach house. The fish is amazing. I would highly recommend Paul, Cloughey Beach house and the fish and chip shop.Guest review byKarenUnited Kingdom

ATE IN THE SALTHOUSE AT PORTAFERRY SAILING CLUB WHICH WAS FULLY BOOKED. EXCELLENT QUALITY AND QUANTITY, AND VERY DECENT PRICING COMPARED TO MANY. A COUPLE OF COFFEE SHOPS , THE PORTAFERRY HOTEL, SEVERAL GOOD PUBS. SHORE LINE IS FAIRLY FLAT AND THEN FOLLOW EITHER FERRY ST OR CASTLE ST (UP HILL) TOWARDS THE TOWN SQUARE - EUROSPAR / WINEMARK / MARKET HOUSE / SHOPS / BUTCHERS / CHIP SHOPS / PUBS. To be honest, I did not spend that much time in Comber itself. There are so many other places to visit in the area. Belfast, Strangford Lough and peninsula, Downpatrick, Newcastle, Mourne Mountains within easy driving distance. Comber was still a little bit quiet, with the lockdown just lifting. But everyone I met was very friendly. A good basis to explore a large part of Northern Ireland.Guest review byUrsulaIreland - 10.0

Strangford is a lovely little village with very friendly locals and just enough facilities. Nice little home bakery, good pub and 3 x decent restaurants. You can get the ferry over to Portaferry if desired but there are lots of things to do close to the town. Castle Ward is walking distance, nice little beach close by, Saul and Downpatrick are all within close driving distance.Guest review byMarkUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The house was perfect, the view just sheer heaven. Kircubbin could be doing with a little investment compared to Greyabbey. On the plus side its very convenient to other towns and tourist spots and close to Belfast.Guest review bySeamusUnited Kingdom - 2.0

I was part of a group which stayed at this location for 1 night and glad it was only one night. Upon arrival of this property bedsheets where covered in makeup the musty damp smell was horrendous. The room which I slot in has dust damp and dirt especially in all corner spaces also the bed was supported with a folded up hand towel or flannel. Window ledges where dirty the down stairs shower/toilet room all corners of room was filthy even paint chippings lying in the corner. We paid £750 for one-night stay then ro be informed if wanted use of disco room and jacuzzi ans sauna we had to pay an extra £200 which we did. The disco room as they call it was there living room. With a few sofas and projector. There jacuzzi wasn't even warm it was being heated with heating lamps and was not the heat a jacuzzi should go. There was also not enough wood provided for the sauna. All furniture looks old and definitely has not been washed down. If you fumigated this property you would still smell the must! Now before we left property we hoovered made beds cleaned ad done dishes etc. But we left a few items especially my little nephews bottles which re certain bottles that the baby will only drink from and the conman owner is refusing to give the items back until we payan additional payment of £60 for what he says is bad odours in certain rooms. He is blamng our dog for this and is trying to say he has to get extra special cleaning done. Absolute joke! Conman of owner! Unhygienic place with furniture from the 18th century. Avoid at all cost! Absolutely do not recommend this place at all. Leaving this review as owner is now not answering calls or texts and trying to deny that he was not aware a pet who coming when we have the evidence to prove otherwise! The dog did chew the fish net and hose which I did offer to pay for that but the owner is nothing but a cons man wouldn’t go near it ever again and certainly not getting money off meGuest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Newtownards isn’t the prettiest of places but it was well placed for what we required. Handy for Belfast City, but also well placed for visits to places like Newcastle, Bangor, Killyleagh, Strangford Loch.Guest review byDaveUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Portaferry is a lovely wee town that is starting to regenerate and add new features to infrastructure and facilities. I hope that the growth includes plans to actively promote events such as the one we were there to participate in this week - The Narrows regattas - an annual sailing event that includes all the clubs in and around portaferry and Strangford. We hope that more restaurants might open in portaferry in the future too but there are options to cross over to Strangford to enjoy hospitality options there! Ferry crossings can be limited - especially at weekends - so hopefully local councils will be actively looking at improvements in the ferry timetable. So - we love portaferry and will be back!Guest review byAudrey - 8.0
