- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 311 reviewsYoung couple visiting Cotswolds for the first time . Absolutely outstanding hotel grounds! We could not believe the size of the place. We were delighted with the service of the staff they all worked hard , were attentive and the place was beautifully decorated and clean . Room was clean , spacious and cosy . Main house we really enjoyed exploring particularly the reception and billiard room! The spa was excellent with immaculate changing rooms . We went at a quiet time so had full use of the jacuzzis. Just what you need on a cold dry night. Dressing gowns in the rooms which were perfect if you took a chilly walk there. The food was delicious and plenty of options. We opted to have 3 courses at the travelling duke for 2 nights for only £25pp including steak ! We hope we can come back for a meal at the Brassiere as this was booked up every night. The value for the location, room, food, spa and hotel entertainment services was excellent. Didn’t use the golf course but it was appealing. Lots of activities to do too when you are there. The location was perfect and only a short drive to Chipping Norton and into other towns. Surprised it didn’t attract a younger crowd but we can’t wait to come back!Guest review byemmaUnited Kingdom
- From US$208.67 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 2,061 reviewsThe hotel is fabulous. It was my second time there. The room and the bed is so comfortable. The owner is around with a lovely smile and a greeting. Some of the staff were the same as the last time I was there and one of them remembered me. There’s a lovely homely safe feeling in the hotel. The breakfast has everything you could think of. I travel a lot and have never seen such a spread. You are spoilt for choice. It was amazing. I can’t wait to go back !Guest review byEileenIreland

Delightful old town with lots of nooks and crannies to explore. Lovely old buildings, especially the almshouses and the church. Friendly people. Good eating places. Smashed avocado at The Pablo Lounge is excellent! Good location for catching a bus into Oxford or for exploring the area generally. Nice little town with great pubs and close by to local attractions. We stayed here so that we could visit the farmers dog and we were only 25 minutes away. We also visited a few of the other little towns and villages. Great location. We ate at Bitter & twisted one evening in chipping Norton. Staff were friendly and the food was lovely. Great value for money also. We would definitely return.Guest review byKatie - 10.0

The town has a little bit of everything from a bustling town centre, small museum, great bookstores , a great choice and variety of cafes and pubs. The nearby country walks across beautiful Cotswold countryside also provides you with exercise and fresh air. Clarkson’s pub-The Farmer’s Dog-is within busing or walking distance. There are many other pubs worth visiting nearby as well-many providing delicious and nutritious meals. We really enjoyed our visit and would come again.Guest review byJayneCanada - 10.0

The town is well laid out, car parking is easy and free! Many excellent chain and independent shops plus eateries. Can recommend the Three Horseshoes. Witney is located on the edge of the Cotswolds being a good base to visit Burford, Bibury and environs.Guest review byAlvanUnited Kingdom - 8.0

An attractive small town, right next door to Blenheim Palace and near to Oxford: an excellent base for exploring the area more generally. The town has lots of places to eat and drink, and some useful shops, including a co-op in the centre of town. Prices aren't cheap, but quality is good. Parking can be a bit of a problem at busy periods, but we managed OK.Guest review byGeoffreyUnited Kingdom - 10.0
