Delightful old town with lots of nooks and crannies to explore. Lovely old buildings, especially the almshouses and the church. Friendly people. Good eating places. Nice little town with great pubs and close by to local attractions. We stayed here so that we could visit the farmers dog and we were only 25 minutes away. We also visited a few of the other little towns and villages. Great location. We ate at Bitter & twisted one evening in chipping Norton. Staff were friendly and the food was lovely. Great value for money also. We would definitely return.

The town has a little bit of everything from a bustling town centre, small museum, great bookstores , a great choice and variety of cafes and pubs. The nearby country walks across beautiful Cotswold countryside also provides you with exercise and fresh air. Clarkson’s pub-The Farmer’s Dog-is within busing or walking distance. There are many other pubs worth visiting nearby as well-many providing delicious and nutritious meals. We really enjoyed our visit and would come again.

Banbury is a good-sized market town at the edge of the Cotswolds. While it's not built of Cotswold stone it's still a good place to stay if you want access to shops, restaurants, pubs and the cinema; so it's convenient and possibly a bit cheaper than the heart of the Cotswolds. It's surrounded by lovely villages and countryside, I can recommend visiting Deddington (especially when the market is on) and Cropredy - for a stroll along the canal.

An attractive small town, right next door to Blenheim Palace and near to Oxford: an excellent base for exploring the area more generally. The town has lots of places to eat and drink, and some useful shops, including a co-op in the centre of town. Prices aren't cheap, but quality is good. Parking can be a bit of a problem at busy periods, but we managed OK.
