- From US$60.31 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 6.4Pleasant - What previous guests thought, 11,547 reviewsThe hotel is in a very good location, near the beach and the promenade, with a building rich in history. The architecture and history are beautiful. It used to be luxurious, and that's still noticeable. Our room was on the 5th floor. Comfortable bed, renovated bathroom, dry, and clean. I especially want to mention the staff. My son got sick with a high fever, and we needed a late checkout at 5 p.m. They accommodated us without charging for an extra night and allowed us to stay for a very symbolic additional fee. We definitely want to come back.Guest review byBogdanUkraine
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,696 reviewsEverything was beautiful. The house was so beautiful. Immaculate. Location lovely facilities nice. Washing machine, at the property and and a dish washer was a luxury to say the least when having 7 for family dinner. It is beautiful for all ages, the swimming pool , sauna and steam room are lovely. The little arcade and shop, with an onsite pharmacy is so convenient. Takeaway wine is very pricey from the bar but they do a mean long island cocktail. XGuest review byJayUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 206 reviewsThis was a beautiful gem of a place the location was amazing to use as a base to explore what Yorkshire has to offer. The lodge was clean and beautifully decorated and had a comfortable homely feeling to it making it easy to instantly relax into the peace and quiet. The extra touches that I asked for for my partner's 40th birthday (banners, cake, mulled wine and a box of chocolates) were excellent quality and a lovely surprise for my partner walking in.Guest review byHelenUnited Kingdom

Whitby is a lovely fishing village with an interesting harbour and lots of good fish restaurants. It has lots of interesting little gift shops and jewellers many of which sell the famous Whitby jet. For the young at heart there are the 199 steps which lead up to the famous Whitby Abbey or for others you can park your car and just stroll to the Abbey.Guest review bySylviaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Harrogate is lovely - plenty of shops - little boutiques and a variety of Restaurants and Bars - we stayed for one night and went to Bettys Tea Rooms for Afternoon tea - Nightlife is quieter than most towns but there are bars which cater for all tastes and ones that stay open late - we went to the Blues Cafe Bar which has Live Music 7 x day per week. Train station and bus station in Centre - also there is a wonderful Valley Park which is worth a visitGuest review bydanitaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I loved the scenery, the Tramway, multiple different styles of places to eat, the friendliness of the people. So many historic places to visit as well as nature areas. This is a lovely and picturesque town in the incomparably lovely Yorkshire dales. There is a lovely market square with nice shops and restaurants, a fabulous Georgean theatre, a terrific castle to explore, and a nearby ruined abby that is an easy walk from the centre of town. (Every town needs a ruined abbey, right?)Guest review byBeverleeCanada - 8.0

The Abbey is certainly worth seeing. The history is great and the fact that it's still being used is tremendous The town is easy to get around parking not too difficult and has a good selection of shops 👌Guest review byPorter - 8.0

We weren't there long enough to really get to know the village (town?) but it looked as if there were some interesting walks for the dogs, an interesting river, birdwatching oportunities etc, and quite a few pubs for a place that size! Always a good shout. It also lacked a really busy main road cutting through (at least, from where we were staying) so not much traffic noise and easy to get about without getting knocked down!Guest review byo loan - 10.0
Well what can I say an absolute little jewel of a town.
Well what can I say an absolute little jewel of a town. Plenty to see from the town square and high street. Down to the river walks, The Lady Chapel, The Castle. River boats (but only till October) Mother Shipton's Cave. Got to mention the very quaint and beautiful railway station. It is quite hilly but with patience and care it can be got around we are in our late 60's and we managed. Watch out for the blue plaques on the historical buildings reading them is a real eye opener. Plenty of pubs to choose from but the Worlds End Pub has to be our favourite. The food there was very reasonably priced. Portion size is very generous and well presented and the staff are lovely nice place to take a break.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 10.0

thirsk is not the biggest of places but it was very nice, only thing is, if you need a taxi, regardless if their is racing on or not, you cannot get one, it seems that the odd individual people have one car and thats it, there's no taxi company as such and its pot luck if you manage to get one.Guest review byjanetUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Settle is a lovely little town.
Settle is a lovely little town. We were there in the rain, but could still enjoy what it has to offer. The musuem is free to visit and a good way to learn a little of the history. Nice Chinese take-away thats good value too. Scenery nearby is stunning- would definitely recommend taking the train to Carlisle, across the Ribblehead viaduct. (Road route of settle to hawes is beautiful too, even in a downpour) We would definitely like to return to the area. A weekend visit was too short!Guest review byAngelaUnited Kingdom
