Fayence is a quaint, traditional village with a market three days a week, which is especially large and busy on Saturdays. There are numerous small, independent shops and restaurants in the village and there are several major supermarkets within a few miles. Great location for visiting the south of France by car. Roads are a bit tight as it is a mountainous perched village. Accommodation at Villa Magnolia is amazing: There is a pizza and burger place; a few restaurants including restaurant Chez Hugo which is a bit more upmarket and experimental food. Lots of art galleries and a gift shop. Supermarket express close to city centre and a bigger supermarket in a neighbouring town. Having recently sold our villa in a nearby village, we know the area well. Fayence is the largest of a number of nearby hill top villages, all with quaint cobbled streets and beautiful views. There is a choice of supermarkets and excellent boulangeries within easy reach. Attractive little place (as are Fayence, which is underrated, and Seillans, which is slightly overrated). Only there briefly - as mainly we stayed in the nearby Terre Blanche golf/spa resort - but very nice.
