What a teriffic find. A quiet village hotel, we stayed in a converted outbuilding that had been done up to the highest standard. Beautiful courtyard garden, lovely breakfast in the conservatory and the added bonus of a restaurant right next door. It was a great place to stop over on our way back to Roscoff having done a weeks skiing in the Alps.

    -very nice accommodation , in the city centre , 1min walk to the tram stop and 10-15min walk to the train station by foot. room has all basic needs you need for a comfortable stay. not so modern building but all still functional. booked the stay with dinner , reservation can be done upon check in which was very easy. included are either appetiser and main dish or main dish and dessert. options were limited but tasty and came in good portions. big applause for the waiter as it was busy and she had to do everything herself and it took longer as usual but she was really helpful and attentive. thumbs up As for the breakfast the second morning , nice options from the usual baguette to even crepes available. Grounded coffee or nespresso coffee provided.

    Such friendly staff. Nothing is too much trouble. We were very lucky that our room was ready when we arrived early. Always super clean. Kettle in the room is fantastic for us brits. Restaurant is wonderful for breakfast and dinner. Decor throughout the hotel is tres chic. They sell local artisan foods too and I love the honey. We have repeat bookings here. Only a few miles from the motorway. Super dog friendly. They have their own bowls in the room. Great area around the hotel for the dog to stretch his legs.

    The Le Mans museum and circuit was the only place we visited but that was great fun. From driving through it had maxed neighbourhoods and there is significant road works happening at the moment which causes lots of diversions.

    LaFleche is a quaint down on the Le Loir, it's lovely to walk around, and sit in the streetside cafes, with a small offering of essential shops. The hotel Kyriad is perfectly place on the edge of town by a lake and beach, near 4 nice restaurants, and leclercks just over the road There is also an excellent municipal camp site with a pool etc. It's also very convenient for Lemans .and chateau's. I've been going there for over 20 years

    For us the location was ideal.

    For us the location was ideal. We wanted to visit Le Mans old city, but didn't want to stay in the centre. Even better, probably less than a mile from the property was a good reasonably priced restaurant, without having to go into the centre.

    La Chartre is a very interesting old town - lovely for a wander around after dinner. We ate at the Hotel Du France two nights, B Brasserie two nights (food was exceptional) and La Luna - good vegetarian choices. We struggled to find restaurants for dinner on Monday and Tuesday (most are closed in France on those days) but with a bit of investigation we did find somewhere. There is a lovely campsite by the River Loire, and a large boating lake. The Tower of Joan of Arc above the town is a lovely feature and illuminated at night. Overall, the town is a fantastic base for exploring the Loire Valley.

    Le Mans is somewhat dull.

    Le Mans is somewhat dull. The cathedral is impressive but the old town, compared to others I have visited, is rather underwhelming. We stayed there whilst travelling down, and then back up, France. That was enough. I wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend it to friends. Unless you plan to go for the Le Mans 24 - look elsewhere; there are much prettier places.

    We have stayed at the hotel previously as it's an ideal overnight stay en route from Calais to the Atlantic Coast. Plenty of room to park, comfortable bedroom, bar, good dinner & breakfast - all at a very reasonable cost.

    La Flèche is short of restaurants especially on a Sunday and Monday. It is a short drive from the channel ports which is a plus. There doesn’t seem enough interest in the area to occupy more than a few days

    This was a nice stop over place on our trip.

    This was a nice stop over place on our trip. The room and the hosts were really nice. Breakfast was good and there was free parking. We went into town to look at the old city and have dinner. We found out most places don't open for dinner until 7-8 pm, so we ended up getting fast food, since we were still tired from the flight and the day.

    We had motorcycled the length of France to the west Pyrenees to the Med side of the Pyrenees, so had seen and stayed at some amazing locations. La Chartre-sur-le-Loir was only intended to be a stopover before the ferry from Caen back to the UK. As such, the town could not compare scenically with any of our other locations. It's nice and it serves a purpose, but apart from it being convenient, I can't say I'd want to holiday there.
