The best thing is sitting down in one of the numerous cafes, which are present everywhere in Paris. Good food and pleasant atmosphere. To get around metro is most useful. You need to plan your trip a little bit, but when you master that it is very easy. Use Navigo easy pass. You should be very careful with thickets validation. My first attempt ended with paying a fine. Validation sensor doesn't work every time, but you can still walk through barrier and if you don't check, your ticket might not be validated. Visiting all the important sights is very tiresome. Lot of people and long cues. Industrial tourism. Even in the Moulin Rouge. Large crowd of tourists squeezed at very small tables, extremely uncomfortable, despite the bottle of champagne you might have bought. Fortunately they have the famous name and excellent show. The highlights beside the Moulin Rouge were Eiffel tower, Louvre, Notre Dame and Saint Chapel, museums de l'Orangerie and d'Orsay. All in all it was a beautiful week in Paris.Guest review byDušanSlovenia - 10.0

The apartment is clean, well equipped and convenient for Metro Line 3, a large supermarket and local bistros. There is also a scattering of take away vans near the station that look well used by the locals. One in particular - based around a London bus - appears to have a large screen where many gather to watch football (soccer). We used this as a base for exploring Paris, rather than visiting Bagnolet, but could see plenty of places in the area where we would have liked to spend time had we not been trying to cram so much of central Paris into our stay. Père Lachaise cemetery is only 3 stops away, for those who would like to pay their respects to the likes of Jim Morrison, Oscar Wilde and Edith Piav. Metro Line 3 offers a convenient gateway to Paris, as well as an easy route to Gare du Nord and the Eurostar, or train link to CDG. Gare du Nord has a luggage drop facility that allows you to leave your bags to let you squeeze every last moment of your final hours in this amazing city, unencumbered by luggage.Guest review byAntheaUnited Kingdom - 8.0
I loved the fact that room was very warm, it's amazing!
I loved the fact that room was very warm, it's amazing! The location is very convenient, since it's close to metro and buses. But the photos didn't really match the reality (they were taken some years ago for sure). The room just need a little fresh touch and better cleaning (the floor cover had stains). But overall, it was a nice stay.Guest review byAlla L.Portugal - 2.0

this property is not suitable for human living. it is even worst than third world countries. Electric currents in entire bathroom with water running around, abusive and nonsense manager, property is in dangerous condition, tons of mosquitoes, heaters are also giving you intermittent shocks, all the furniture is absolutely rubbish. we left the property with life threatening danger and with absurd manager. Our vacation is spoiled completely. we have to call emergency 112 to secure us and finally able to came out from this property, walked many kilometers in a rainy cold day to move to another accommodation with premium payment. it will be not shame to say that Booking.com is running a scam by promoting such hazardous property with higher ranking. totally worthless.Guest review byRajeshGermany - 10.0

There are plentiful shops, restuarants, pharmacies, bakers, banking, grocery and clothing options. The metro stops in Saint Mande- M1 train. I recommend La Fraternite restuarant. Also La Tourvelle is excellent. The area brasseries are all quite nice. The Balmer Boulangerie (bakery) is excellent as is B Bakery. The fruit and juice stand across from the Balmer and near hotel Le Ruisseau is excellent (fresh squeezed smoothies 5 euros? Le Ruisseau is an exccelent choice for lodging.Guest review byHarryUnited States - 10.0

Paris changed a lot from 10y to now, I didn’t had good experiences before but now I can say it’s one of my favorites cities in Europe and I’m not even a city person. It’s safe, enjoyable, just good things to talk about Paris at the moment. Enjoy the night, the cafes, the walkings, feel safe.Guest review byAríciaBrazil - 8.0

It's a great option for budget travellers with easy access to public transport including metro and bus. The surrounding area is a bit rough around the edges, but there is a mall across the street which is very convenient for picking up necessities and snacks. The restaurant in the building has lots of options and is not too pricey.Guest review byRobert PowersCanada - 8.0
Our room was in the first level.
Our room was in the first level. Although there were some noises from the street, closing the window eliminated all of them. The room's facilities and equipment were fine for even more than a one-week trip, as we did. Polite and friendly staff was the other positive point. Comfort beds and private bath.Guest review byMehrdad - 10.0

A village with real character and yet very close to the city of Paris with excellent shops and restaurants. a Carrefour, Vanilla bakery and numerous little cafes. The corner cafe/ restaurant 'Villa Saint Gervais' on the corner of Place du General Leclerc was our go-to place for refreshments and superb meals. my favourite boutique: BisBis, on Rue Andre Joineau for an eclectic selection of accessories and clothes. There is a good offer of public transport connections and a bicycle hire pickup-station nearby.Guest review bySimoneUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We stayed in the Latin Quarter - would definitely recommend the quiet of the area, as the Metro was close and could then go out to the more touristy areas when we wanted to. We were a block away from Rue Mouffetard - do not miss this beautiful street market. It's sublime. Getting around Paris was easy with Metro, found it similar to NYC subways. The food was extraordinary, has changed my relationship with how I think about food - the pleasure of not just eating, but watching the Parisians shop daily for food. Luxembourg Gardens is a must as well as Musee Rodin. In four days, we could barely scratch the surface, but we spent more time just walking the neighborhoods. The architecture was stunning, and that was what I wanted to see and feel the most. Of course, a ride on the Seine is a must. I can't wait to go back.Guest review byAmyUnited States
