The owner is very amiable. We felt like we'd been treated like Dutchess and Duke. The house is a castle and very charming. The dinner was delicious, even though we did not make reservations. During our stay, the Dutch host was very helpful and friendly, and he did everything to make our stay unforgettable. The rooms were decorated in the 18-century style.

Staff were fabulous in each department: reception, bar, waitressing. In particular the lovely young lady with the red hair (sorry forgotten her name) and the sommelier. Cocktail, restaurant meal and the breakfast were absolutely perfect, fresh produce, creative and generous. The garden walks were a bonus.

    Love this hotel, my aunt and I stayed here for 2 nights and my brother joined us for the second night. The hotel accommodated him at very short notice. My aunt and I ate in the restaurant on the Saturday evening and the meal was superb. It is the second time I have eaten in the resurant as visit the area due to family living close by. The restaurant is closed after breakfast on Sundays. We found the nearest place to eat in the evening then was in Saint Junien a 20 minutes drive drive away. Breakfast was simple but adequate. Parking outside was free.

    It was such a joy to stay at the Château de la Chabroulie. Although we traveled as a couple, we booked the Family Suite to enjoy the luxurious bathroom in the tower, with an exquisite bath. The Château is very well maintained, with beautiful landscaping. The hosts were so welcoming and we appreciated them sharing their stories (we asked them) over breakfast. Très magnifique !

    We stayed Limoges specifically as a location to visit the Matyrs village at Oradour-sur-Glane. A moving place to visit I'd recommend to anyone with an interest in history and the brutality and hatred of the Nazi regime.

    I'm not sure as to why Brits expect tea / coffee facilities in rooms in France, in city style Hotels yes, but not in the country .I have had my Harrods travel kettle for 40 years, it's always in the suitcase with tea bags and long life milk, cups, spoon, and adapter, sorted!

    A small but charming town on the route between Limoges and Clermont Ferrand. Lots of old architecture and a decent range of small shops and restaurants. Away from the main road, it is very quiet and peaceful. It has an interesting-looking church but we didn’t have time to visit it.

    Small village / town, lovely church to visit, the pub, Le Pont de la Pierre, by the river is a must visit as such a lovely setting and well worth the walk. The Restaurant Le Palais nice setting but we got overcharged and will not be frequenting this place on our future visits. The restaurant Le Cheval Blanc offered a set menu and it was fastfood with à la carte prices. Le Central Bar was good for drinks. Gets busy with visitors, ex-pats and local residents. Bellac itself is pretty quiet and a car is a must, lot of interesting beautiful places to visit in the nearby surroundings.

    Everything was great.

    Everything was great. I recommend this hotel to everyone who likes quiet place, good and clean room, nice staff, nice view on the lake. Owner is very friendly and helpful. Food is very testy. Next time I will stay longer.

    left long review in Booking.com but generally don't go if you have dogs, plan meals as they don't serve dinner in their restaurant, keep noise to a minimum (even before usual quiet hours), owner-focussed management rather than customer-focussed (jumped on the threat to throw us out for little evidence of our dogs barking upon early return to the room), breakfast limited and expensive positive points: beds comfy, well situated, secure

    The old town was charming and fun to wander around in. We had a wonderful meal in one the small plazas. Lots of restaurants and bars to enjoy and it was nice to be surrounded by locals rather than tourists - creates a great atmosphere.
