We arrived in late afternoon at hotel and toured island first in evening hours - great idea as less crowded and still light enough to wander the streets and alleys. Toured the abbey the next morning - around 11. Already getting crowded - should have started earlier. But well organized and flows well within the Abbey. Well worth the visit to see this unique and historic structure - magical.Guest review byPeterUnited States - 10.0
In general, the area has many activities.
In general, the area has many activities. I think you want a day for Mont Saint Michel. You can go hiking, horseback riding, helicopter rides, it's like a zoo. It has many things, I think it took 2-3 days to explore the area.Guest review byJohnGreece - 8.0
Nice summer town with a lot of shops and restaurants.
Nice summer town with a lot of shops and restaurants. Beautiful views over the north and south bays from 'the rock' in the harbour. Unfortunately, it took 20 min to walk to the train station and there were no buses there.Guest review byGunillaSweden - 6.0

Very crowded and parking a nightmare as to access it one has to descend a long steep hill to get there and walking back up it is only for the fittest! They desperately need a circular bus service so that one can park and go by bus. Following my dinner down in the port, I asked the restaurant to order a taxi to return to my lodging and was told explicitly that I would have to order one from St,Malo ( minimum fare 35 € for a 7 min drive! ) Once down in the port the restaurants and bars were excellent. The Mayor treated us wonderfully and the locals against whom we played pétanque were really hospitable.Guest review bydu Pre - 8.0

Like us, many visitors probably only stay in Beauvoir to see the Mont Saint-Michel. However, with good accommodation and access to bicycles or a car, we're sure the area is well worth exploring further.Guest review byHeikeIreland - 10.0

- really lovely small city center, Avranches really surprised us! We would recommend it to anyone. Perfect location to visit other beaches as well. Also possible to visit Saint-Mère-Eglise. - beautiful beach to visit and to walk byGuest review byInezNetherlands - 8.0
We arrived by train and took the shuttle bus to the island.
We arrived by train and took the shuttle bus to the island. From the island it was a bit of a walk (40 mins) with luggage through the fields to reach the hotel. If you're by car/have a bike, this hotel is a good option. If you are - like we were - just walking, it is a bit far to reach the shuttle and restaurants. The hotel itself is nice, pleasant and quiet. Very helpful staff.Guest review byAfraNetherlands - 10.0
Historic town with interesting buildings.
Historic town with interesting buildings. Hotel was beside the river and there was a good path alongside for a walk in the countryside. There is a market on Tuesdays but we didn't have time to visit it.Guest review byElaineUnited Kingdom - 10.0

If you want discover the Brittany countryside away from the craw and in a more authentic way of life while being within driving distance of the main attractions like the Mont Saint Michel or saint Malo, then this is an ideal place to stay. It is very quite peaceful and beautiful.Guest review byOlivierUnited Kingdom - 10.0
A mesmerizing place that provides delights at every turn.
A mesmerizing place that provides delights at every turn. This place is not recommended for people with mobility issues. Not only is it geared for people with the stamina to climb stairs and rather steep roads but the oppressive crowds make maneuvering, even for the able-bodied, difficult. Particularly avoid visiting in July and August, if you must gear your visit to the early morning or the evening when the tour bus crowds are away.Guest review byAndrewUnited States
