The location is perfect - right next to the sea, offering stunning views and easy access to beautiful walking paths in the area. The service was exceptional, with friendly and welcoming staff who made us feel at home from the moment we arrived, offering welcome drinks and sandwiches. Breakfast was great, with a variety of options. The spa facilities, including the sauna, added a nice touch of relaxation, and I especially enjoyed the outdoor heated pool. The infinity pool was beautiful, though unheated.

A firm favourite with sun-seekers, Majorca (or Mallorca) is the largest Balearic Island. The enchanting capital Palma has a grand cathedral overlooking the harbour, a 14th-century castle and Arab baths, to name just a few highlights. Nearby is Palma Nova, home to lots of Majorca hotels on the beach within easy reach of the fantastic nightlife in Magaluf. Further along are calmer Santa Ponsa and Port d’Andratx. In the opposite direction, S’Arenal has a fantastic, palm-lined beach and quick airport transfers. North of the island is UNESCO World Heritage-listed Serra de Tramuntana whose mountain lakes are absolutely beautiful. A trip to its highest peak – Puig Major – offers wonderful views. Down below is Port de Soller, a lovely town with some excellent Majorca hotels for families. Other popular family resorts are Alcudia with its long sandy beach, and neighbouring Port de Pollenca. Ruins of the Roman town of Pollentia are nearby. In the east Cala Ratjada benefits from 2 beautiful coastlines, while the beaches at Cala Bona and Cala Millor certainly live up to their names – Good and Best. Cala d’Or (Golden Cove) is another aptly named resort: its golden, sandy beach is nestled between rocks lapped by turquoise waters.     Cathedral is 'mandatory' (pre-book) Main shopping streets are great but wander off to right and left for a more authentic experience. The Hotel St Francis rooftop bar is magical at night. Open to non residents in the evening if you can cope with the Instagramers. Stay there if you can afford it and enjoy the rooftop bar and small pool during the heat of the summer

    Playa de Palma is probably the best beach and swimming...

    Playa de Palma is probably the best beach and swimming experience I've ever had. The sand beach is nearly perfect, the water is crystal clear; it is a very shallow entry beach – something I usually dislike – but in this case it makes fun swimming 200-300 m off the cost and returning back. Very beautiful promenade. Lots of restaurants and shops. A half-hour away from the city of Palma, which is magnificent. Overall, a great sea resort experience.

    Arenal is really nice, love the beach and surprised to that there was relatively quiet. We went to the part of Arenal closer to Palma, just seems cleaner. Love to bicycle into Palma, Palma is amazing

    Magaluf is a great destination for those who enjoy nightlife and clubbing – there are plenty of bars and clubs to choose from, offering something for everyone. You'll also find large supermarkets and a wide variety of good restaurants. However, I wouldn’t recommend it for a romantic getaway, as it's more lively and party-oriented. It’s a convenient base for exploring the southern part of Mallorca and is close to Palma. Renting a car on the island is easy and can be done at affordable prices.

    Typical Spanish tourist town.

    Typical Spanish tourist town. Plenty of good bars and restaurants, some with live music. Would of like it to be a bit more boutique'y and a little less Spanish/British bucket and spade. So not a lot to see, unless you like these very typical Spanish beach resorts. But overall good for a short break.

    Can Pastilla is a very peaceful town with a large, beautiful beach and many great places to walk. The promenade to Palma is perfect for running. Unlike Palma, it’s quiet and relaxing, with excellent restaurants. Highly recommended!

    Ideal for any length of a visit. the beach is fabulous There are loads of various bars and varied restaurants which is great for visitors with different preferances. However if you want the best it can only be the American diner We enjoyed STADIUM 63 which had great acts every night and the staff are very friendly and the new owners have continued and improved its great history. The Sunset bar and Banana Joes are also worth a visit.

    Cala dor is a beautiful place with so many beautiful cove beaches Esmeralda very pretty It’s such a safe place everyone is chilled out and relaxed just such a lovely atmosphere everywhere Marina is stunning and beautiful foid our favourite was portofina restaurant staff are very friendly and food is lovely we found marina cheaper to eat than the square as well Maddison’s bar nice atmosphere in the evenings Everything is in walking distance square and marina 5 min walk apart from each other there are lots of hotels in Cala dor situated around the square Just loved Cala dor and will def go back

    We didn’t realise before we booked that Santa Ponsa is...

    We didn’t realise before we booked that Santa Ponsa is popular with groups of boys and girls on party holidays. It’s such a short trip to Magaluf that they seem to stay in Santa Ponsa and get a cab into Magaluf. Because of this a lot of bars are very busy and geared towards groups of young lads/girls. We didn’t find it a major issue however one to bear in mind for a family holiday.
