If you are a fan of Gaudi's architecture , a lover of history, or a Camino Pilgrim, then this town is a must for a couple of days visit. The old city is easy to navigate on foot. The chocolate museum is also worthwhile if your time allows. If we were traveling by car then I think we should have liked to stay an additional night and explore some of the surrounding area. The town is full of historic buildings and sites, and the surrounding area is stunning and interesting. Being a significant stop on the El Camino Santigo adds to vibrancy. There really is very little to say about Boca de Huérgano...
There really is very little to say about Boca de Huérgano itself...it’s a tiny sleepy place but it does provide easy access to the Picos de Europa and the road between Riaño and Potes is one of the best you’ll ever drive. I loved the City it was clean and well maintained. I got lost and a kind Spanish man helped me get back on the Camino. This man walked with me for 4 kilometres until we found the Camino TRAIL. Ponferrada the City should mark the Camino trail better than they have. Even signage within the city saying “Camino that way.
