FAQs about hotels on Fuerteventura
Ride its Warm Wave
With streches of long, sandy beaches and a great setting for watersports, Fuerteventura has established itself as a year-round beach holiday destination.
Set across the Atlantic from Lobos Island and Lanzarote beyond, Corralejo is one of the most popular Fuerteventura resorts. Its long sand dunes are favoured by families, while offshore the waves are great for windsurfing and kitesurfing. Surfing is also great here and at El Cotillo, a fishing village around the coast.
Although Fuerteventura is the 2nd largest of the Canary Islands, its landscape is largely unspoilt, meaning that you will find most Fuerteventura hotels by the beach. But the inland towns of La Oliva and Betancuria with traditional windmills set amid undulating, volcanic scenery offer pleasant sights away from the beach. The island’s highest point is Mount Jandia, in its own natural park in the south.
At its feet is the long beach connecting Morro Jable and Jandia, while to the north Costa Calma is a relaxed resort that certainly lives up to its name. Just south of El Mattoral Airport are Costa de Antigua and Costa Caleta de Fuste, home to a castle and a good number of 5-star Fuerteventura hotels on Booking.com. On the opposite side of the airport is the capital Puerto del Rosario, starting point for ferries to the other Canaries.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.0Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,495 reviewsIt was the second time we have stayed here. It is not without reason that we came back. The hotel has everything for the perfect family holiday. The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and everywhere in the complex is cleaned exceptionally well. There is a lot of entertainment for the children, the buffet is tasty and varied, and the location is good. The service and customer friendliness are unprecedented. The catering staff in particular work very hard and deserve recognition because they still manage to do the tough and hard work with a smile.Guest review byFatima AddaNetherlands
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 102 reviewsIt was in many ways the perfect combination of a hotel and a villa. You had your own private pool and hot tub, and a huge, largely private rooftop space for dining or sunbathing - and your own kitchen, dishwasher and washing machine and dining area - yet with the facilities of a hotel when you wanted them. I would get sick of eating catered food three times a day - so you can simply walk to the local large shop and restock your fridge. We loved it. It was immensely relaxing.Guest review byRoderickUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 6.8Pleasant - What previous guests thought, 809 reviewsStaff were wonderful. At reception, in the restaurant, at the bar. The cleaning staff everyone smiling. Always saying Hola and remembering our names. Also pool area was very relaxing and clean. Good choice of food for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner. Tea and coffee and drinks available all day at pool bar. Very close to the wonderful beach in morro jable and a short walk to the old town.. Plenty of shops and restaurants, bars along the main strip not far from the hotel.Guest review byJosephIreland

Every single member of staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, from the receptionists to the cleaning staff, chefs and waiters, especially Jorge in the buffet. The food was absolutely top class, better than most 5 star hotels we've stayed in. We really cannot recommend this hotel enough, an absolute gem for those seeking a relaxing holiday in a friendly atmosphere with outstanding food and service!Guest review bygibsonSpain

Since we last visited 15 years ago you can certainly see some changes. The part pedestrianisation of the high street is a bonus, as you move away from the Music Sq. end and walk in the oposite direction up the High St. there have been improvements in the shops and small shopping centres available which gives the main street a positive vibe. Plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from different variations of food.Guest review bySteveUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Morro Jable is the old/quieter part of Jandia with lovely little streets and authentic restaurants. Very little shopping or bars so not best if that's what you're looking for. Jandia, just up the road may be better for you. And if you're looking for English breakfast, steaks and roast dinners I'd say you're at the wrong end of the island. If you want authentic food and culture this is for you.Guest review byWalleee66United Kingdom - 8.0

Nice city with some outstanding must-to-eat places (e.g. Restaurante Al Fresco, Restaurante Arena or El Bar de Marco). 4 days is enough to enjoy the city + visit the Oasis Park (whole day trip) when travelling with kids. This beach is absolutely stunning—wide, long, and covered in soft, golden sand. It’s ideal for long walks, jogging, or even a refreshing run along the shore. The sand is firm enough in some areas to make running comfortable, while the open space allows for uninterrupted movement. The crystal-clear water and the clean, well-maintained environment make it a pleasure to spend time here. It’s never overcrowded, so you can fully enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. The fact that it has been awarded the Blue Flag for 2024/25 speaks to its quality and cleanliness. Whether you want to relax, take in the views, or stay active, this beach offers the perfect setting. Highly recommended!Guest review byIvkaUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Nice, busy, authentically Canarian town. Not a resort.
Nice, busy, authentically Canarian town. Not a resort. There are ( apart from days when cruise ships come in ) few non-Spanish voices to be heard. A real place, which has little of the artificiality of resorts. As such, it would not appeal to everyone. Great shopping and lots of good restaurants. There is a large shopping mall with good shops in it. A bit hilly, however. The front is interesting and enjoyable to walk along. And everyone is friendly!Guest review byry95United Kingdom - 8.0

Ideal place for some warmth and sun and a good place to relax. Close to Caleta de fuste if you want to find a few more things to do such as beach, marina, shops and restuarants. Would probably suit more mature people than younger folk as there is not much to do in the actaul resort other than eat and drink, however Caleta de fuste is only a 5 minute drive away or 25 minute slow walk and that area offers more for families and younger couples/singles.Guest review byAdrianUnited Kingdom - 10.0
El Cotillo is a beautiful village that we have been visiting...
El Cotillo is a beautiful village that we have been visiting for 18 years now. It is not full of karaoke bars and English pubs as we like to experience the local culture. There are many restaurants to try out and all of good quality and reasonable prices. The locals do appreciate if you attempt to speak their language which we always do as I think it is a respectful thing to do. My only concern for this amazing village is the number of new apartments they are now building and whether the charms of the village will be overtaken by large scale tourism.Guest review byALISONUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It is a lovely little traditional village. A lot of the restaurants are closed on Sundays and Mondays which was a bit of a pain but only because there were so many to experience! It is well situated, near beaches but you do need a car.Guest review byHollieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Fantastic countryside and paradise for beach lovers. Roads well maintained and easy to drive. Fantastic food for fish lovers and good value. Lovely little coffee shops and bakeries. Friendly people.
