- From US$967.72 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.5Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 248 reviewsWe had an unforgettable stay at Abadía Retuerta. The staff were exceptionally friendly—special thanks to Juan Carlos and Álvaro for the way they received us, the staff at the Vinoteca, for their great recommendations and food. In general, everyone made us feel very welcome since day one. Our dog was very well accepted, and he was able to dine with us on the terrace of the Vinoteca The wines were excellent, and the wine tour with Francisco was insightful and engaging. Definitely a must-do. As we were celebrating our honeymoon, the team went above and beyond by upgrading us to the Master Suite, a gesture that truly made our stay memorable. The suite was incredible, and their attention to detail made us feel so special. The pool was relaxing, and all the amenities were spotless. In summary, this is truly a top-tier hotel that will stay in our hearts forever. Abadía Retuerta delivered not just a stay but an experience we will always cherish.Guest review byMiguelLuxembourg

We stayed in the Old Town in central Leon and it was fantastic. Beautiful plaza’s around most corners and wonderful buildings of Gaudi and Leon Cathedral which are amazing. Food and drink very cheap and most bars provide a tapas with every drink.Guest review bySEANUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Conveniently located hotel for a stopover. All modern rooms and our room very comfortable to stay. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. There is an attached cafeteria and restaurant so no need to go elsewhere.Guest review byAnwarUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Valladolid surprises.
Valladolid surprises. At face value it doesn't match up to its illlustrious neighbours, but it reveals itself as you stay longer. There are many monuments, multiple and varied churches, parks, 2 outdoor pools, a riverside swimming beach, and it is where Christopher Columbus spent his last days (check out the museum). Don't expect English to be widely spoken and tours and museums are nearly all in Spanish. Plenty of dining options and adequate shopping. I wouldn't say the populace embraces visitors, but then again they don't spray them with water pistols either.Guest review bymarkUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The Cathedral & city walls are magnificent.
The Cathedral & city walls are magnificent. There are plenty of 3 *** & 4 **** hotels & restaurants. There are also lots of cheaper places to eat & drink. Try the Posada de la Fruta, Plaza Pedro Davila for lovely ambience & service.Guest review bySIMONUnited Kingdom - 8.0
This is a beautiful city with great architecture.
This is a beautiful city with great architecture. Beware of the pickpockets though. One trick they tried on us was the splatter of "bird droppings" and then offering to help clean your back while the remove your necklace, watch etc. Thankfully I was wise to this trick... it was either a VERY big bird or a squirter bottle.Guest review byColleenAustralia - 10.0
Ponferrada seems a really nice city.
Ponferrada seems a really nice city. We didn’t get time to visit the castle or cathedral but our friend did and she said both are really great and well worth a visit. Loads of restaurants and places to eat.Guest review bySEANUnited Kingdom - 8.0
I really enjoyed the river side and the city landmarks.
I really enjoyed the river side and the city landmarks. I did not enjoy the restaurants, for some reason most of the ones I checked were closed even though it said open on google maps. I ended up eating some "pinchos" at a small coffee shop, but the person that attended us was ultra friendly.Guest review byFábio M.Portugal - 10.0

I wanted to visit Soria because of the nearby archeological site of Numancia. I had read El Cerco de Numancia by Cervantes as a student and remembered the site. The Museo Numantino in Soria has fascinating artifacts from the archeological site and other locations in the area. Wonderful Roman glass, pottery, jewelry and sculptures. In addition, Soria is a lovely medieval small city well-worth a visit away from more crowded tourist locations such as Barcelona and San Sebastian...Guest review byMichelleUnited States - 10.0

If you are a fan of Gaudi's architecture , a lover of history, or a Camino Pilgrim, then this town is a must for a couple of days visit. The old city is easy to navigate on foot. The chocolate museum is also worthwhile if your time allows. If we were traveling by car then I think we should have liked to stay an additional night and explore some of the surrounding area. As it was we were slowly making our way by bus from Santiago de Compostella to fly out of Madrid after having walked the Portuguese Camino.Guest review byTraceyAustralia
