The fact that Infinity Park is rated 5 stars and it had great reviews made our choice easier. We got everything we wanted and more! The hotel looks great and modern. The room was surprisingly big, with an adequate balcony, beds were very comfortable, the bathroom was very nice and in excellent condition. Seriously, everything one could expect from a 5 stars hotel. The food! oh my God, the food! We had breakfast and dinner in our package and each meal was exceptional! A plethora of options, enough to satisfy even a hardened critic, like my wife :) We also had luch and the a la carte menu was also varied and the food was delicious. One thing that was particularly impressive was that deserts had a home-made taste to them! The spa services are varied also, lots of saunas, jacuzzies, pools, they can be viewed in the pictures. What is important is that they are very well maintained and very, very clean. We each enjoyed a massage service and we were both extremely satisfied! The room we got was much bigger than what we expected and had an amazing view from all three sides. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All the food we had was delicious and we found out they produce a lot of the ingredients locally. At the hotel you can purchase some homemade goods - we got some tea and jams. In the last 7 years I have only been skiing in Bulgaria, although there are beautiful ski areas in Romania as well. Until this year I have only been to Borovets and Bansko. It is an amazing quiet place in the mountain. I like visiting in the summer because of the views and hiking opportunities. I prefer staying in areas like Smolyan Lakes rather than the town or Pamporovo as I like to be far from people. There are a lot of hikes and places to visit (with car, short hikes and long ones). Dospat is a very small town.
Dospat is a very small town. There is a bank with an atm, a few supermarkets with most things, and a few restaurants. Our favorite was Ресторант-градина Орфей- which has excellent food and was open until 11pm (other places closed before 8pm). Zlatograd is an undiscovered gem of a town up in the Eastern Rhodope Mountains of Southeastern Bulgaria, a few kilometers north of the Greek border. It has a nice old town with an Ethnographic Museum complex, old style Balkan architecture, and its new town is pleasant, too. Amazing view! Batak Reservoir is really beautiful, even though we were there during the snowy winter! In the summer I'm sure it is full of water sports options. It is so calming and relaxing! We visited the cave Devil's throat, there, the herb garden at the hotel is beautiful. There is a bear museum which we failed to visit but worth doing it since on the same ground. Next day we did the Eagle's eye platform and Yagodinska cave. About the hotel: The balcony overlooks the river which was an amazing feature, very relaxing, staff is so friendly, breakfast was excellent. Also for families travelling with a car, the parking spot next to the building is so convenient. It is an excellent place to visit for the weekend with a kids. The restaurant has a very nice outside patio and inside space to enjoy traditional Bulgarian dishes they offer. The Iglika Bistro is a superb eating place with a wonderful denne menu, and an extensive take-away menu, all at very reasonable prices and they received 4.8 out of 5 stars for their food from very satisfied customers! Their staff are extremely helpful and gave us directions to the pedestrian only walkway where there are fantastic clothing shops and other facilities. The town has a very good Billa right in the centre, and a rather disappointing Lidl right on the outskirts of town. On one of our walks from the Svetispas Hotel a dear old lady indicated that we should follow her and she took us to hidden away very hot thermal springs next to the river that you can use for free as they are apparently on municipal land. The town is quite small but is well served by many businesses. There are bus services, and a narrow gauge train, lovely high wooded mountains, and a strongly flowing river.
