Such a beautiful location! The house was warm and spacious, the beds were very comfortable, the house has everything you could need. Also there was lots of wildlife around, we even saw a few white wallabies! Couldn’t recommend more for a relaxing get away

The property is spotless and new. Check in is simple. The landlord responded to call immediately. All cooking items are available with fresh milk. The ginger tea bag is my cup of tea. The restaurant recommendations are good, especially the Hotel Bruny Restaurant which serves good seafoods. The bonus is aurora in Bruny Island.

Southport has the last fuel facilities in southern Tasmania, and is too small to support a supermarket, but if you're looking for peace and tranquility in a bushland/forest setting, and friendly, helpful locals, it's a great place to set up base. Visiting Hastings Caves and (warm) springs, and Cockle Creek, are not to be missed. We stayed at Southern Forest Accommodation, a self-contained cottage provided by a lovely couple who really care about hospitality. We were able to cook our own meals, and apparently the nearby hotel also offers meals, which we did not try, but otherwise the nearest restaurants would be in Dover.
