Offering a terrace and river view, Aurora River Camp Glass igloos & cabins is situated in Kiruna, 19 km from Kiruna Train Station and 17 km from Kiruna Bus Station. Staying in a glass igloo is magical. During the day, you are in your own warm, comfy bed looking out at the snowy landscape and frozen river. And at night you can see the aurora from the comfort of your bed, which is ideal. (One minor point is that it's hard to avoid seeing your reflection on the glass of the igloo in your aurora pictures, so you'll want to step outside for some shots.) Our host, Tony, was very helpful. He called us before we arrived to arrange our airport pickup, but we ended up renting a car. Upon arrival he took our luggage by sled to the igloo and showed us how things worked. We had a tiny kitchen and a dry toilet in the igloo, but we ended up not using them. Instead we took the short walk to the Service House that had a living room, dining table, full kitchen, 3 full baths with showers, and 2 other rooms. Breakfast was laid out for us in the Service House (sliced meat, cheese, boiled eggs, breads, jellies, cucumber, cereal, yogurt, etc. There were not many options for gluten-free vegans, but I had brought my own granola and oat milk.) We loved sharing the Service House with other guests and hearing their stories. Tony texted us each night when the aurora came out so we wouldn't miss it. We highly recommend Aurora River Camp to anyone looking for a comfortable and magical nature adventure.

Set in Överkalix in the Norrbotten region, House next door the Arctic Circle has a garden. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. Really great place to find aurora!! For 5 days we found it 3 time directly in front of main doors!

Arctic Colors Northern Lights Apartments features mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in Porjus. This apartment was super cozy. The living area and rooms were comfortable, especially the bed. The huge windows overlooking the lake was great especially for northern lights viewing. The hosts were accommodating to my requests and even messages me one evening to tell me the northern lights were happening. Would definitely stay here again!

Valkea Arctic Lodge features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, located in Pello. Wonderful cabin with al the comforts. Including a modern wood burning stove. Personnel so kind even if late arrival. Perfect place in nature.

Lannavaara Lodge is offering accommodation in Lannavaara. Guests can enjoy river views. All guest rooms at the hotel come with a flat-screen TV and a kitchen. Property was made accessible despite there being snow on the ground. The host came to greet us and ask if we needed anything. Nothing was too much trouble. The property was warm and had lots of windows to let in natural light. The bed was comfortable and the blankets & quilt made for a warm stay. There were good storage facilities and cooking facilities if you wanted to stay for a long trip. The local community and surrounding environment also helped make for a perfect location.

On the banks of the river, this motel is in Sangis just 100 metres from the E4 motorway and 20 km from Kalix. A cozy, clean and nice room at a very convenient location. The owner was really nice to us too. Good and solid breakfast.
