The Moorland Hotel, Haytor, Devon - The Coaching Inn Group features a garden, shared lounge, a terrace and restaurant in Haytor. The dinner, high tea, and breakfast areas were spacious and delightfully decorated with an eye to easy comfort and respectability. The surrounding moors and tor were fun for a walkabout. There was a proper snow while i was there and hay tor hill was covered with sledders, dogs and hikers. I spotted a herd of wild horses hanging around the trail to hay tor munching on the snow covered bushes. After my day on the moors, there was a handy entrance through the hotel boot room, with bench and towels to shake off the snow. My room had a hot towel rack that dried my clothes and gloves by morning. The dinners and breakfast were prepared by skilled chefs and were good looking and delicious. I highly recommend the moorland hotel for a relaxing stay on the moors.

The Hoops Inn & Country Hotel is a Grade II listed property nestled within unspoilt countryside and 5 minutes’ drive from a scenic coastal walk. We were in the area for one night and were delighted to find this gem! We live in Germany so staying in a country pub/hotel is always a treat for us, and this did not disappoint. We have 2 little dogs who were very welcome in both the pub and the room (and were even given treats and a cheeky sausage by the wonderful staff!). Our check in was smooth and we were able to book a table for dinner with ease. The staff were all super attentive and engaging. The room was comfortable and was everything we needed - even if the bed was a tad small, it still provided us with a solid nights sleep. However, without a doubt, the pinnacle of this stay was the food!! It was EXCEPTIONAL! And this is not exceptional for a pub, it was exceptional compared to anything! The duck was genuinely one of the best cooked and tastiest we’ve ever had! We’ve already recommended it to people and we are seeing how we can visit again on our next visit. Whether you stay for a night or not, the food HAS to be tried! Book a table and thank us later!

The Ley Arms is set in Exeter, 11 km from Sandy Park Rugby Stadium, 16 km from Newton Abbot Racecourse, as well as 6.1 km from Powderham Castle. Great location 15 minutes from the airport, in an exceptionally beautiful part of England. I had a lovely walk on the public paths in the hills before dinner. Cosy, lovely, pub, great staff, beautiful and comfortable suite. The food and drinks in the pub were super, too. I had dinner and breakfast here.

Situated in Braunton and only 25 km from Lundy Island, The Den - A modern, quirky, self contained unit features accommodation with garden views, free WiFi and free private parking. Lovely Den with everything needed to enjoy a night away.

Seaside guest house a stone's throw from the beach, a property with a garden, is set in Dawlish, 12 km from Newton Abbot Racecourse, 26 km from Sandy Park Rugby Stadium, as well as 11 km from... A lovely little studio with nicely stocked facilities. The sheets were lovely and soft, the bed very comfortable. There was a TV which we used to snuggle and watch a film on in the evening as it had Netflix access (may have also had others, we didn't check past Netflix). Everything was very clean and I always got a quick response if I needed help. Also, the scones, jam and cream in the fridge was a lovely surprise. I couldn't recommend this little place enough.

Glade 50 Bideford Bay Holiday Park, a property with a shared lounge, is set in Bideford, 14 km from Westward Ho!, 15 km from Lundy Island, as well as 15 km from Royal North Devon Golf Club. Excellent accommodation. Spotlessly clean.

Thornmoor Barn, a property with a garden, is set in Lifton, 36 km from Cotehele House, 41 km from Kartworld, as well as 43 km from Castle Drogo. The barn was self-catering, but the hosts left milk and eggs, which was lovely!

Located 34 km from Lundy Island, The Mole Resort - Lodges offers 4-star accommodation in Chittlehamholt and has a fitness centre, an indoor pool and a garden. Everything was super. Very nice property with loads of activities and exceptional landscape. We could have spent more time there. The hot tub was super.

Three Bedroom Instow Caravan is a beachfront property situated in Bideford, 500 metres from Westward Ho! Beach and 1 km from Westward Ho!. The caravan was absolutely spotless and very well equipped. The lounge area was spacious too and I was surprised by the amount of storage.
