Lovely old funicular railway takes you up to the botanical gardens and space place observatory. Cafe at the top. I booked a return as my visit was in the evening, but had a wander in the botanical gardens. A great tourist attraction for Wellington and fun for children to go on. Take a ride from Lambton Quay and then walk back down through the Botanical Garden, stop at the Lady Norward Rose Garden and have a coffee at "Picnic" and the walk back to town through the old Bolton Street cemetry which graves of early settlers or wander through Thorndon.Guest review byMargaret du BernNew Zealand
