Fram Museum

To see the largest wooden ship ever built, head to the Fram Museum. At this incredible spot, you can board the ship that still holds the records for sailing farthest north and farthest south. There's even a polar simulator that gives you a taste of the dangers of travelling to the Artic and Antarctic hundreds of years ago.

Set in an interesting location and modern building, tells the story of the famous expedition ship and consequently the explorers Nanssen and Amundsen and their Arctic and Antarctic voyages. Can get very busy. If you access it by the ferry from the harbour you get the advantage of good views and a short boat trip for a reasonable fare.

This is a monument to the times when men were real men, facing incredible difficulties and risks to advance humankind. Leave 3-4 hours for this pearl, and don't forget that there are 2 boats and 1 floatplane to get excited about. Great and affordable souvenir shop with lots of unique items.
