solemn place - touching when you think about it from the eyes of 12-13 year old girl. 1 hr is good enough unless you are too much into jewish history. Plan to explore the Jordaan neighbourhood around here and also can plan a boat cruise from here before or after the visit

Exhibition is very well done ... while it is sad, it is so interesting and informative and the hand held ear phones are very good. The entry times works very well so there are no big queues you just come for the time you have booked. Would recommend this visit.

The Anne Frank House is a must see in Amsterdam.

The Anne Frank House is a must see in Amsterdam. I read the Diary of Anne Frank when I was around 11. It is one of countless stores of the Holocaust. It was moving, touching and tragic. The house provides a way for you to experience how they all lived and tragically how their days in hiding ended.

Excellent, very moving. Stairs are very narrow and steep. At the very in there is a room with plenty of seating which presents a do not miss media display. It expounds on the adage “ never forget”. Again, do not miss it.

I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would.

I enjoyed it a lot more than I thought I would. It was very busy even at 7:30am, but the walk around was very well planned out and it never seem to crowded when walking through. Quite educational and a nice little shop at the end if you want to pick up any souvenirs.

Remember to book a slot on online several WEEKS in advance, or you won't get inside. So I can only comment on the building's exterior as okay. It's not a palace (I didn't expect it to be), but there are plenty of other nice shops and things to explore on the block. Directly in front of the building there is a canal tour for those that forget to order tickets early enough.

I booked a room that was billed as small, but it was cozy and comfortable for one person. I stored one piece of luggage in the bathroom, but that wasn't a problem. The room was super quiet and had everything I needed. The hotel is in a convenient location -- it's on a canal, the train station is 10 minutes' walk in one direction, and the Anne Frank House is 10-15 minutes' walk in another direction.

For the Anne Frank Huis - be prepared for long queues, get a special ticket or book in advance. My friends and I waited in line for over 2 hours - during a heat wave, no less! There are a few things to do while you wait, that is, if someone can hold your place in line. You can go and take a look at the original front of the house, and the view of Prinsengracht is very nice. There are also a couple of souvenir shops that serve cold drinks and snacks, as well as a bathroom, to the left of the queue. Also, the nearby LGBT tourist information booth sells really pretty postcards.
