Good to get there early as so much to see and can easily spend a whole day there. If you're into the gory bits, I'd visit the exhibit on torture early as tends to be a queue; the same applies to the Crown jewels. The architecture and history there were amazing, but be prepared to walk a lot of hills and steps. We enjoyed seeing the crown jewels and were lucky there wasn't too much of a queue to get in to see them. Despite the new high rise buildings there are still many old houses and warehouses that evoke a sense of history.
