Sagrada Familia

A large Wari village, Pikillaqta was mysteriously abandoned in 1100 AD and soon after set ablaze. Despite ancient attempts at arson, the site is still wonderfully intact. You’ll wander the streets and plazas amongst temples, communal buildings, homes and storage structures – some of the buildings an impressive 4-storeys high!

    Book this one in advance.

Book this one in advance. You cannot get in without a reservation. Direct booking on the official website is pretty easy.. Later in the afternoon 6.30 is a good time. The lights are brilliant through the stained glass. This is one of Gaudi sites worth every penny. Again just don't be late because I know some people who missed reservation were denied. Be prepared for airport style security. But it is quick with your times slot. Once inside you can use the free audiophile to be downloaded from Sagrada Familia website when reserving a slot. There will be crowds at times. However, you can take rest break sitting quietly in pews so the ladies with the flags and 50 people tour groups go away five minutes later. Lol

The church is excellent and very beautiful.

The church is excellent and very beautiful. But as the tower is in construction, is very difficult to see the view and to return from upstairs is by foot in difficult steps till the ground. I do not recomend going to the tower.

One of the most beautiful building I have ever been in. The light through the windows alters all the time. I do not have the words to describe it. Even of you are not religious, it is well worth going to.

    Must have in Barcelona!

Must have in Barcelona! The exterior don't tell nothing about the incredible interior of Sagrada Familia. By buying a tour/guided ticket is better to understand everything about the history and architecture (I bought my tickets in GetYourGuide). I normally do it by myself, but it really worths to pay a little more to hear a guider.

Went on a tour in this beautiful architectural masterpiece.

Went on a tour in this beautiful architectural masterpiece. Our guide was good but spent too much time on religion and I felt the 2.5 hour visit could be been cut in half to an hour. Beautiful lighting and artworks, sculptures and architecture. Would suggest just getting a ticket yourself rather than having a guided tour unless you want all the religious stuff.

Do the skip the line self-guided tour.

Do the skip the line self-guided tour. I've now been 3 times and I still get overwhelmed by the architecture and thought that went into it by Antoni Gaudi. I'd suggest going early, it's the least crowded and you can enjoy how the light comes through the stained glass.

Apartment was really big, there are 2 separate bedrooms, kitchen , bathroom, terrace/laundry room and living room. And every room was separated by a door, soo it was great for group of friends who wanted privacy. Location was excellent, it was a walking distance from Sagrada familia in a really cute, quiet neighborhood.

Best thing about the safe stay hotel is the location. Everything is at a walking distance, train station, palaces, Sagrada familia, placa de catalunya, cathedral, beach, almost everything is 15 to 20 minutes walk from the hostel. Very easy n convenient for those who want to explore Barcelona on foot like me. The arrangements were good but can be better. However, its good value for money. Perfect for solo travellers exploring barna on budget especially.

The staff were extremely helpful, made the apartment available 6 hours before our alloted time, stored our bags all day as we had a late flight home. The apartment was very comfortable, all we needed for a 4 day stay in Barcelona. Great location, close to restaurants ,metro , La Sagrada Familia, supermarkets etc.

Amazing location, a good 5 min walk from the sagrada familia. It's a whole apartment, you get a keycard, so it's very easy to use, you keep the keycard in the keycard holder like a regular hotel. There is staff at the entrance to give and pick up your keys. The place itself, good condition. Everything was functional. Nothing to complain about.

I came to the clinic with my daughter, and the location was very convenient for us, it was relatively quick to our appointments by taxi . A very important aspect was seeing the Sagrada Familia, just steps away from the hotel. The apartment was clean, and the hotel staff were very kind and happy to help whenever needed. Thank you to the lovely ladies at the reception for their care.

Beautiful apartment, chic as named, very clean, a short walk to Sagrada Familia, and from there with the subway anywhere. It didn’t lack anything to make you feel at home, maybe even fancier than at home. Very comfortable beds, loved the blinds so you could sleep in the morning. It was very inviting to stay in and sleep in , but there’s so much to do in Barcelona…

Room was a great size and excellent facilities (dual showers). Rooftop bar and restaurant provides views of Sagrada Familia and a pool. Staff were outstanding and could not be more helpful. The Hotel is located away from the busy la Rambla but it, the beach and many of the main attractions of Barcelona are all with in a 2km walking distance.

I have been with my family- 4 person. Room was large and had 1 bedroom and living room. Room was clean. There is a kitchen with all you need units. Cleaning was done every 2 days. Location is good. 15-20 to Sagrada familia, Bahlio’s house and all the way you meet beautiful architecture buildings. There are some bars and markets near the hotel. Parking is large and cheaper for Barcelona 20€ per day.

The house was very large and welcoming, the rooms were tidy and very well looked after, the kitchen worked perfectly and with the right services, very clean, then, Cristina, the girl who served us during our stay was always available even outside the classic working hours, then the location is excellent just 10 minutes by metro from Sagrada Familia and Rambla. It was a great experience and if we return to Barcelona we will definitely return to the apartment

If you visit Goudi's Battlo house do so after doing the Barcelona tourist bus trip (buy tickets from the underground Information office (good english plus you can get Sagrada familia tickets for a timed entrance thus avoiding the queues) in Pl Catalunya next to El Corte Ingles){ same ticket can be used on red, blue and green routes although green is all but worthless} and along with ticket/s you get a discount booklet incl 3 Euro off the price of Battlo (21euro entry) which you can then spend on the audio/visual tablet which shows you the furniture which was in each room, desks, tables/chairs and altar etc which greatly enhances the understanding of this dragon house. It also shows where Goudi developed some of the ideas used in the Sagrada Familia. The opportunity to have your photo taken (10 euro photo or 13 euro photo + digital download ) from the highest sharks mouth balcony should be taken as it will probably be one of the few which includes everyone rather than excludes the one holding the camera.

one of the most interesting churches i've been to in Barcelona is definitely Sagrada Familia because of its untraditional sculptures and interior. it gives a great insight on the famous architecture of Barcelona; lead by Gaudi.
