Iztok Kurnik has rented and managed the Erjavčeva mountain hut since 2022. Before, as a photographer, he travelled to more than 85 countries and explored all national parks. At a younger age, he was a DJ, worked in the music business at Universal Music Group and managed the most successful rock band in Slovenia. He has organised over 2000 concerts and events and has held the Victor Award for the sold-out stadium and the MTV Music Award. He moved to the Triglav National Park in 2022, the most beautiful view spot at Vršič mountain in Erjavčeva mountain hut and enjoyed every second.

Erjavčeva mountain hut lies on a small hill on the road to the Vršič mountain pass, just 750 meters from the top. It has the most beautiful mountain view, with a direct view of the naturally made "Stoneface" of the Heathen Maiden. There is a water stream near the mountain hut, a fantastic landscape and a plethora of starting points for hikes, excursions and climbing. Located in the heart of Triglav National Park, 5km from Russian Chappel, 10km from Kranjska Gora, 750m from the top of Vršič, 9km from the source of Soča River, 13km from Trenta and 30km from Bovec. This is the most beautiful part of nature at the entrance of Triglav National Park. From here to Bovec, Most na Soči, Kobarid, away to Italy and Dolomites. From this point of view, this is the entrance or a teaser to the Dolomites. However, this location offers you a million starting points to different landscapes, not just tourist but also local attractions, a million paths, and climbing points.
