About this property

Only 5 minutes’ walk from Folkestone town centre and the Leas beaches, the Wycliffe offers cooked breakfasts and free off-road parking. Rooms at the Wycliffe have views over Folkestone or Trinity Gardens and are decorated in a simple, traditional style. Some rooms have en suite bathrooms and seating while others have sinks in the room. Built in the 1890s, this Victorian building has been modernised but retains its period charms. The private garden is open to guests and there is also a residents’ bar. Breakfast options include cereals, fruit juice, toast, a cooked breakfast and tea or coffee. The Wycliffe is 10 minutes’ drive from the Channel Tunnel, Folkestone Railway Station and the M20 motorway. Dover Ferry Port is 15 minutes away, as are the famous White Cliffs of Dover.

Company information

We offer a warm and hospitable welcome to all guests whether staying for a short break or looking for longer term residence whilst working in the area. We are on hand to assist with information on local eateries and places of interest in the area. We are fully compliant with the requirements of the Food Standards Agency, the Health and Safety Executive, Kent Fire Service, local and national government and insurance agencies. In line with Government requirements we operate a non smoking policy throughout the building; we do however have facilities to accommodate smokers outside in our private garden.

Property information

You are assured of a warm welcome at our Victorian guest house situated in its own gardens, one of the very few in the area with private off road parking. Over the years the charming building has been tastefully modernised to provide clean and comfortable accommodation whilst still retaining many of its original features. Our room features include a hospitality tray with a selection of hot beverages, flat screen digital TV with freeview, free WiFi and toiletries. We are within 10 minutes of the Channel Tunnel and 15 minutes to the Dover ferries, making it ideal for anyone requiring a break in their journey. Evening meals are available by prior arrangement or alternatively the town centre with its restaurants, bars and clubs and the Leas Cliff Hall are only a short stroll away. The seafront, leas coastal park, children's play area and picturesque harbour are also within easy reach. France is just 35 minutes away by the Eurotunnel, a great place for shopping and the gateway to the resorts, historic towns and scenic countryside of northern France and Belgium. So many beautiful, exciting and interesting places are also within easy reach by car, train or bus: the cathedral city of Canterbury and its unique world heritage site attractions, Dover, the medieval town of Rye, Leeds Castle, wildlife parks, miniature railways, stately homes and glorious gardens are just some of the attractions. The north downs with its rolling hills and pretty villages are on the outskirts of Folkestone. We welcome families, well behaved dogs for a small additional charge and motorbikes, which can be parked safely away from the main car park.

Neighbourhood information

The Wycliffe guest house is located in the quieter desirable west end of Folkestone yet is only a short walk to the town centre. The Leas promenade is within easy reach for a stroll overlooking the channel towards the French coast. For guests wishing to eat out there are plenty of good restaurants within a 5 minute walk
