Right alongside the River Lune in central Lancaster, this traditional pub serves real ales and hearty full English breakfast. The shops of the city centre are just a 5-minute stroll along the river, and a picturesque cycling route passes by the building. Rooms at Wagon & Horses are elegant and traditionally furnished, with a flat-screen TV and tea and coffee making facilities. Each also has a work desk and an en suite bathroom with free toiletries. Wagon & Horses has a covered and heated courtyard, where you can sit outside in peace. The gastro pub serves home-cooked food made from local ingredients, and there is a wide-ranging wine list. Lancaster Cathedral can be reached in around 15 minutes on foot, and Lancaster Museum, on the market square, is less than 10 minutes’ walk away. The seaside resort town of Morecambe is 5 miles from the building.
