The Matterhorn and Zermatt without the cost of an expensive hotel! Good access by train or car. Well placed for lake Thun (1 hour by train). Interlaken or Bern (both 80 min by train). Lake Geneva (90 Min by train). Or just chilling out in the mountains! Rent includes the tourist tax. Shady terrace outside with amazing views! Lots of books, films, childrens toys, games and baby facilities.
We live just below and are usually available. Love to meet other people and have a chat or share a coffee or tea! Usally reachable by phone, email or text. Very happy to give you local advice. The path up to the house is a bit steep and we can usually help with your luggage. Please ask when you book & tell us your arrival time so we can get organised. We are a retired couple. Erika is Swiss. Chris is from England. We enjoy travelling. Erika is a musician. Chris a train enthusiast and writer. We all love skiing & cycling. Our son Robert lives nearby and is an engine driver. For the last 9 years we have successfully rented out our apartment here and love making our guests stay memorable & comfortable.
The house is set in an amazing location with mountain views on every side. The small town of Stalden is just 8 minutes away, by foot over a spectacular stone bridge. Zermatt and the Matterhorn are a short and fantastic railway journey away. Good local restaurant. Picturesque old town quarter. Cable car to best and peaceful local viewing point. In winter easy access to skiing in Zermatt, Saas Fee and several local resorts.
