Best place I stayed in all of New Zealand!! Sandra is incredibly kind and helpful. Riverstone was a great base to wait out the weather to hike the tongariro crossing. The place itself is super clean and cozy, and has a nice patio to enjoy the sun and a well equipped kitchen.

Set in Auckland, Verandahs Parkside Lodge has a garden, shared lounge, terrace, and free WiFi throughout the property. They held my mail for over a week, so thankful for that! Staff was great, I felt like it was a decent place to meet other backpackers. Quiet location and comfortable rooms :)

First of all, all the staff were very friendly, kind and supportive! Anddd very clean and tidy, organized, peaceful. Giving that Japanese capsule hotel vibes, but like backpackers with having private space and interaction with ppl at the same. It was comfortable for me to stay:) Just 15min walk from the central area, I think it’s a very nice location, not too city yet walkable.

Located in Plimmerton and with Plimmerton Beach reachable within 1.7 km, Moana Lodge provides a tour desk, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi throughout the property and a shared lounge. Prime location and so easy to find. The view from our window was stunning- looking out towards the water. The place was very clean and staff welcoming and friendly.

Newly opened and refurbished in October 2020, Wanderlust NZ is a waterfront hostel located in a historical building in downtown Tauranga. There was such a great atmosphere from the personal but also from the people they were there. The balcony was great just to chill and you could reach the beach in 15min with bus.
