The host was friendly, welcoming, and clearly cared about his guesthouse to a high standard. We felt right at home and he cleared the snow from our car windows too which was very thoughtful.

Guesthouse Iwase is set in Toyama, 2.2 km from Toyama-kō and 14 km from Toyama Family Park. I love traveling around Japan on a bicycle and rarely stop in hotels, hostels, or guesthouses. I usually sleep in a tent or on a bench at a roadside station. But this time, I decided to stay in this Guesthouse Iwase to rest after my hike to Mt. Tsuguri-dake. I'm very pleased that I stayed in this wonderful place. The guesthouse owner is very friendly and caring. Right from the beginning, he showed and told me everything. The guesthouse has a very comfortable living room, a very clean shower, and a quiet shared room with 4 beds. The air conditioning prevents me from experiencing the heat outside. Due to the rain, the guesthouse owner offered to store my bicycle at the entrance, for which I am very grateful. I was able to ride the bicycle available for rent. The bicycle very comfortable and good. I rode to the center of Toyama to see the local park and sat at Starbucks. In the evening, in the living room, we sat down with the guesthouse owner and other guests, sharing our impressions of the day spent. I highly recommend this guesthouse. P.s. I also liked the house. It's in a Japanese style with european elements (the room for four people).

The hosts are amazing, great cozy place with great cozy ambiance. They have a lovable little boy that's very social, and just the whole feel of the place and the family is simply amazing! Super recommended ! It was almost painful to leave and I ALREADY WANT TO GO BACK! Also they're very helpful all the time; they show you in the right direction and on what to do around, even rent you an e-bike so you can make your way around ♡ Magnificent

Minshuku Yomoshirou is located in Nanto, 43 km from Kenrokuen Garden, 25 km from Shirakawago, as well as 45 km from Myoryuji - Ninja Temple. kuni and Noriko made us feel very welcome! The food is delicious and plentiful. And the traditional beds are super comfortable. A peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Thank you.

Set in Imizu, 18 km from Toyama-kō and 5.6 km from Fushiki, 山二 -Yamafu offers air conditioning. The property has quiet street views. My stay at Yanafu was truly delightful. The Japanese house, with its spacious 120 m², is very welcoming, comfortable, and beautifully designed with a natural and sustainable style. Bright, full of light, and featuring restored wood details, it also has a vintage HiFi stereo system that sounds absolutely wonderful. The bathroom was spacious with two individual showers, and the bedroom was perfectly quiet, equipped with a brand-new air conditioner. The host was very kind and friendly—she recommended all the wonderful places I visited nearby. Thanks to her advice, I enjoyed a fantastic restaurant just 12 minutes away on foot, where a talented chef served exquisite dishes in a minimalist setting with a table overlooking a zen garden, all at a very reasonable price. On my way back, I followed her recommendation to stop at a cocktail bar 8 minutes from the house, walking along the illuminated riverside. The place was like stepping into a movie set—the interior design was a true work of art, with more than 80 bourbons and an extensive selection of cocktails. The next morning, following her guidance again, I had breakfast in a café walking only 6 minutes, a former fisherman’s warehouse beautifully renovated. They served excellent coffee, cakes, and sandwiches—the perfect spot to start the day or work with a laptop. In summary, my stay at Yanafu was wonderful. The 120 m² house is warm and cozy, and with the host’s thoughtful recommendations, I could enjoy unique and unforgettable places within walking distance. Ideal for families, groups, and also for romantic couples, thanks to the beautiful surroundings. I will definitely return often.
