This was such a surprise. It’s very spacious and has the best water pressure I have ever experienced in my life. I hope that I will stay again for several nights when I return. It’s a great location and wonderful value especially if you can book a weekend. The home was spotless and the owner let us store luggage at his home after checkout so we could explore the island. Can’t recommend this enough. There is a great okonomiyaki restaurant next door and an Italian eatery down the street for dinner. Remember to bring cash because that’s what the owner requires up front for your stay.

ゲストハウスまりん, a property with a garden, is set in Higashikagawa, 33 km from Shiraha Shrine, 34 km from Matsui Shrine, as well as 34 km from Yakurishion Christ Church. Older, but clean and cosy authentic japanese house. It felt like a visit to grandma’s home. Also the owner was very nice lady. Just everything we were looking for - something authentic, away from tourists and big cities. The town and its people are also very welcoming.
