Akagera Ihema lodges has a garden, terrace, a restaurant and bar in Akagera. Absolutely stunning view over the park and seeing the sunrise from the little veranda was a highlight. The restaurant has a beautiful view and the food very delicious and generous portions. The bed is big and very comfortable and amazing shower! The extra bed/cribs worked well for our kids. All the staff and manager were so friendly and helpful to us all.

We had a great time at Karisimbi Cave Resort, the staff is exceptionally kind and professional. I really recommend to stay here!

Umutuzo Lodge Kivu Lake features an outdoor swimming pool, garden, a private beach area and shared lounge in Buhoro. The property has a terrace, as well as a bar. Really knowledgeable and engaging staff members and activities. Beautiful location.

Situated in Kibuye, 40 km from Mukura Forest Reserve, Umurobyi Lodge features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a shared lounge. I’ve stayed at many places in Rwanda but this by far is the best. It’s obviously on the pricey side but it was worth every cent. The food was amazing, the views from every angle were incredible and the staff really made you feel welcomed and well taken care of. I will definitely coming back.

Homely cottage feeling , outside window botanical garden flowers in bloom. The staff is welcoming and attentive . Felt safe and protected Had good night sleep The room is cleaned daily. Nice breakfast served in your room if needed On leaving early morning, breakfast was prepared for me to take on my forward journey .

First off, this hotel is a hidden gem. Our tour company recommended their own suggestions and we were not pleased with them so we did our own research and I found this place. Wow! First off, it’s beautifully located right on Lake Kivu and is so relaxed and feels very safe with their own security. The room is beautiful, spacious, and has a great bathroom and patio. Moreover, the staff was outstanding and so attentive and communicative. And the food was outstanding on property. Breakfast is included so make sure to enjoy it. We also loved our dinner.

To all my fellow travellers: don't miss this place. It has just opened, they are still adding new services, and it is already a little wonder: The lodge, which is a little higher than the road, offers and magnificent view and it is placed very near to the entrance of Akagera national park. There is no closest hotel, except for those in the park itself; The rooms, which draw their character from the beautiful wooden style, are incredibly confortable, well designed, with a little terrasse perfect to read in this magic atmosphere; The swimming pool is simple but perfect to relax after the "African massage" of the safari road, with a beautiful view; The restaurant also points to the mountain in front, it has the same wooden style, a nice bar and a view to the kitchen to see the Chef in action; The place is also thought well so that it is serving and benefiting the community around: not only is it ecological and affordable, Akagera Park Inn buys its food from the local farmers, it is building a local shop to promote local crafts, it is working with local guides and massage centers, it aims to make its economic adventure an inclusive one that benefits the community. And of course, I have to mention the team who made everything to ensure that I had a good stay. For example, I received a warm welcome with fresh fruit mocktail and warm towel, they offered a little lunchpack for the safari, were extremely flexible with dinner and breakfast time, and put me in contact with the Ellie, a wonderful young guide who showed me around, took me for a brochette and some banana wine after the safari.

The Queendom of Asimba is a wonderfull place to stay. Very friendly, client oriented, communicative and hands-on treatment. Isabelle and Justine look for you, that you're enjoying your stay. Perfect breakfast, dinner was like early days at home (for me). They organised transport by a friendly and trustful taxi driver. I feld treated like a King but at an equal human level. The room (nr. 2) has a nice view on the valley and hill on the other side, was very clean, well-maintained, as well as the rest of the Villa Asimba. I can definately recommend a stay with Justine, Isabelle and the kind staff of the Queendom.

Set in Ruhondo, 49 km from Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Ruhondo Island Retreat offers accommodation with a garden, free private parking, a terrace and a bar. We drove to Ruhondo from Kigali for a weekend in mid-May. We took a wrong turn on the way, and our hosts at the retreat were so helpful directing us in. That level of superb hospitality continued throughout our entire visit. It’s a short boat ride to the island, but the retreat feels like a faraway paradise. You are immersed in the natural beauty of the island, surrounded by lush vegetation and peaceful blue waters. We loved exploring the island and taking a boat tour of the lake. I received an excellent massage in a lovely outdoor setting by the water. My favorite activity was relaxing on the terrace, snacking on warm peanuts and enjoying magnificent views of volcanic peaks in the distance. This is the perfect place to take morning coffee, read a book, or chat with other guests and our lovely hosts. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals, and our cabin was clean and comfortable. We slept deeply at night. Our only regret was not staying a few extra dayss!
