Well set in Porto, Ribeira Douro Hotel features 2-star accommodation close to Palacio da Bolsa and Ferreira Borges Market. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The rooms were fresh and airy, and very clean. The location is perfect for walking around and the staff suggested us some very good restaurants in the area. Breakfast was also a good variety and tasty. We would not hesitate to come back here, it was really charming and the care taken to make you feel welcome is clear. They let us store our bags after check out and called a taxi for us to the airport even when their transfer service was full. Really a sweet and cozy hotel!!!

We had dinner at the hotel restaurant both nights. Elevated Portuguese cuisine well prepared and served. Excellent wine list and the servers are able to suggest the perfect pairing for your meal. Nelas is a small quiet town about an hour’s drive to the Serra da Estrela. Perfect place to stay to relax and enjoy nature. Lovely staff.
