FAQs about hotels in Ho Chi Minh City

Asian Tradition, French Flair and Growing Modernity

Offering a trip through delicious Vietnamese aromas, small silk shops and ancient pagodas, the streets of Ho Chi Minh City dazzle tourists with their vibrant atmosphere. Its rich culture includes beautiful French colonial palaces mixed with modern skyscrapers that show the power of Vietnam’s economic capital.

Whether you decide to visit the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the City Hall, or the Municipal Theatre, you’ll see the care shown by Saigonese people in preserving their historic legacy. On the other hand, the Haussmann-style boulevards are typically packed with small motorcycles that make every street crossing a whole new experience.

Contemporary Saigon can be seen in places like the Bitexco Financial Tower, located directly at central Ham Nghi Blvrd. Meanwhile, Saigon Centre or Zen Plaza are some of its modern shopping malls.

For a look into Vietnam’s recent history, don’t miss the Reunification Palace or the War Remnants Museum. A sunset visit to the 23rd September Park is the best way to mingle with the locals.

Indulge yourself in one of the 5-star Ho Chi Minh hotels, or stay in budget accommodation at Pham Ngu Lao Street. Don’t miss the Ho Chi Minh City accommodation deals on Booking.com before arriving at Tan Son Nhat International Airport!

Ho Chi Minh City is a vibrant, bustling destination that perfectly blends tradition with modern energy. The moment you arrive, you’re struck by the sheer pace of life—scooters zipping by, street vendors calling out, and the aroma of delicious food on every corner. There’s no shortage of things to do here. The War Remnants Museum and the Independence Palace are must-visits if you want to understand Vietnam’s history and resilience. The Notre Dame Cathedral and Central Post Office, both beautiful colonial-era landmarks, make for great photo stops and a taste of the city’s French influence. For those who enjoy shopping and culture, the Ben Thanh Market is lively and full of bargains, souvenirs, and authentic Vietnamese street food. If you’re looking for something a little more unique, Bui Vien Street is the nightlife hub, with bars, restaurants, and a buzzing backpacker scene. Day trips are another highlight. A visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels is eye-opening—you can even crawl through the tunnels yourself to get a sense of Vietnam’s wartime history. The Mekong Delta tour is equally memorable, offering boat rides through lush waterways, visits to floating markets, and chances to see traditional village life up close. Of course, food is everywhere and always incredible. From a simple bowl of pho on the street to trendy rooftop restaurants with city views, Ho Chi Minh City delivers on flavor. Don’t miss trying banh mi, fresh spring rolls, and local iced coffee. The city can be chaotic at times—traffic is intense and crossing the road feels like an adventure in itself—but that’s part of its charm. It’s loud, energetic, and full of character. Overall, Ho Chi Minh City is an exciting destination for travelers who want history, culture, food, and a bit of chaos rolled into one. It’s a city that keeps you on your toes and leaves you with unforgettable memories.

There was 3 of us, my husband was in a wheelchair, the foot paths and entrance to shops etc were not good for person with disability. He can walk but not too far, too many steps and very narrow walkways everywhere. We had a good time and had days tours, but again not really suitable for person with walking problem. Although the guides were amazingly helpful. Enjoyed but 4 days was enough for us. The traffic is chaotic, but fun to watch. The airport was very unfriendly to person with disability, did not like the airport both arriving and departing, very dis-organized and un-helpful. People outside the airport were lovely and very helpful. Loved the place just not the airport.

HCMC is definitely worth visiting because of the sites of historic significance in the recent history of Vietnam. One should definitely spend time at the Independence Palace which was the governmental site of the Thieu Government, prior to his resignation and the eventual fall of the South Vietnamese Government on April 30, 1975

It was just another city in many ways but we did enjoy the markets. Cafe apartments are worth a visit but the food was disappointing on a Saturday night with multiple cafes sold out of food? Don’t go to Decoration Street - it was suggested on an instagram reel I saw. Seriously… avoid!!

Stayed here for a short period as it was central location. The hotel is comfortable and basic ( you get what you paid for ) i.e it is like a 3 star hotel ( an old building) but you have what you need. Washing machine on the 5th floor, in the room it has basic sink and kettle to have a cup of tea. I had the room with city view ( bit of street noise as I was on the 1st floor, but to be fair that is all across District 1 central location). Bed was very comfortable, plenty of wardrobe space. The manager / owner is very helpful and pleasant.

The apartment is located in a quiet residential area of District 1, offering a perfect blend of local charm and easy access to the city center. It’s surrounded by great restaurants, coffee shops, and convenience stores, making my stay incredibly comfortable. The apartment itself was spotless, well-equipped, and had a great workspace for remote work. An excellent choice for an extended stay in Ho Chi Minh City!

Rooms are very big, and the staff gave us a free upgrade which was lovely! Beds also very comfy, and TV had Netflix to watch. Great location, short walk into District 1. Breakfast had a great variety. Staff were very accommodating of allowing us to check in early as our sleeper bus arrived in a few hours earlier than expecting. Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Ho Chi Minh City.
