The Emerald City

Nicknamed the Emerald City due to its lush greenery, Seattle is best known for its great waterfront, fantastic skyline and infamous rainy weather. In reality though, the city gets less rain a year than New York or Atlanta!

One look at Seattle’s skyline and you’re immediately drawn to its most iconic building, the Space Needle. Standing proudly at 184 metres, this major landmark features a rotating restaurant at 150 metres and was featured on numerous films and TV shows, including the classic "Sleepless in Seattle".

The Needle stands not far from the popular Pike Place Market, a public farmer’s market selling fresh produce and crafts from local farms and independent merchants. Rainier in the background is a must!
