We were just there one night.

We were just there one night. Didn't do any touristy type of things so can't really say much about the city. There was a large variety of restaurants within a short car drive from hotel. ON/Off access to interstate was easy.

    I lived there 1957-1964, left when I was 10.

I lived there 1957-1964, left when I was 10. Love driving around remembering my amazing childhood. Two yrs ago took a daughter to meet another daughter at NC Transportation Museum, the old Spencer Yard where my dad Jack Demshock was General Foreman. Went by a house I lived in and met lady who had lived there 40+y. She sent me across the street to a lady whose husband worked with my dad in the 60’s! Came back to visit them and reacquaint with daughter of woman who ran stables where I took riding lessons 5y. Loved Blackwelder’s BBQ, so Miss Helen took me to Hendrix for b’fast! Old home week for me and every memory the best! Love this town, especially the NEW memories I’m making! Can’t wait to come back! The Dairy Queen is still there and it’s think the Salisbury Auto Center in Innesnis the old Pontiac dealer. Had a neon sign with the Indian head on it. I could go on and on and on. . . Wonderful place to grow up, wonderful place to visit!

Salisbury is an interesting small city.

Salisbury is an interesting small city. I come from Fayetteville, NC and it is more laid back than my city. I stayed at a very nice Vacasa rental property off of High Rock Lake at Pebble Point. We traveled up 85 to have dinner a couple of times and found the shopping and dining facilities a lot like home.

Beautiful history, while there saw a free full theater outdoor show and wonderfully done. Had there been tickets to purchase it would have been worth it. Seafood restaurant the blue bay will OVER feed you for a awesome price! The area makes it easy to go to so many areas and towns close by.

Casey got me a room in spite of difficulty in reserving on line. I change from Monday and Tuesday to Tuesday and Wednesday. Monday was not cancelled, Wed not added but she did a great job. I would say to call the desk (ask for Casey) to verify and only book one day at a time. Great, out of the way hotel. If sensitive to noise, ask for a room on the back side or the quite room.. It is located in view and noise of I 85. good food choices in hefty walking distance. Starbucks, Chinese buffet, hispanic, sea food across the street and drive up the hill Cracker Barrel.

There was a fire on Christmas Eve and we were evacuated.

There was a fire on Christmas Eve and we were evacuated. The outcome was costly and damaging to the property, but the employees were so calming and in control as chaos was trying to break loose around them. I highly commend the actions of each employee that day. The kept us informed as they got information, comforted when we were able to re enter the lobby area (it was like 14 outside) and provided food & drinks to us. Thank you for being so professional, polite and personal to all of your guests!

The hotel staff was drugged up clearly high on drugs and once I canceled reservations accused me of having sex in the room that my partner and I were in for under 2 minutes. The room smelled and was dingy. I would never recommend anyone stay at this hotel.

They are at least one of the only cheap hotels in town that still offer a little selection for breakfast and they still have a waffle maker

Mainly a family hotel not for romance, the breakfast was excellent and close to shops, restaurants and places of interest.
