    Oglesby is a pleasant small town, only a 10 - 15 minute drive from Starved Rock State Park. Discovered 2 nice places to eat; the first is called the Root Beer Stand, with the old time outdoor park and order car corrals with speakers. The food is brought out to your car and they mafe their own INCREDIBLE root beer and serve good food. The second place is CortiLeno's, a bar and grill. My wife and I LOVE pizza and have had pizza from hundreds of places throughout the country and CortiLeno's is among the BEST!

    You are close about 10 minutes from all the state parks that...

    You are close about 10 minutes from all the state parks that are full of activities. Also we visited a local restaurant (Cindy's on 39) we were very pleased with the fresh cooked meals. Overall it is a quaint little town.

    We always enjoy visiting this area. Restaurants are plentiful and varied, there's a wide variety of outdoor/nature activities available for fun, relaxation, exercise, rejuvenation--get your nature fix and downtime fun in Oglesby and surrounding areas!

    There is a gas station next door and a McDonald's across the street so it has that going for it. The location is decent as I was heading to starved Rock State Park the next day. I wish there was more positives to say aside from that, but there's honestly not.

    Beautiful indoors & outdoors. Wonderful food with a view of the Illinois River Valley. Wildlife: Pelicans, eagles, other water birds. The size & shape of Starved Rock made it easy to find solitude. The pool facilities rocked my world.
