Staff was exceptional. Very professional, kind and helpful. Location for us was perfect and the place was very clean. Lovely gardens. Breakfast was fast, hot, tasty and served with a smile.

Perfect when riding your bike. I raced from West coast to the East coast and this hotel was the only one that had a hose and cleaning wipes for bikes. Perfect!

Location great, cleanliness was beyond my expectations,breakfast every morning was very good, bed was comfortable, fresh towels every day as well as my bed made every day. Staff was excellent. The inside of hotel as well as the exterior were kept in pristine shape.

It was a cheap motel, and it did the job: i got a warm shower and a good night's rest. Downtown Mount Vernon is only a ten minute bicycle ride away, so it's not too hard to get decent food.

    We loved being able to walk to restaurants like the Alcove...

    We loved being able to walk to restaurants like the Alcove and the park is inviting also. We also went to the water park and enjoyed it with the night lights on! Quaint town, very walkable, and the hotel is just so comfortable and inviting.

    A true gem, in a lovely quaint town.

    A true gem, in a lovely quaint town. The beauty of the flower filled gardens. Accommodations were A+. Breakfast unlike most hotels. A menu special order, not the usual get your own. The staff were so friendly and helpful, from the check in to check out.

    Mount Vernon is a really lovely little town!

    Mount Vernon is a really lovely little town! Lots of unusual boutiques and shops. We visited a great tattoo parlor (Tatt-Too) and a candy shop with all kinds of interesting and old timey candy (Almost Famous Candy). Donato's pizza, which appears to be a chain, was great for dinner and they have green olives, which is not usual! Wish we had more time to visit other places. Moss Rose looks like a great neighborhood bar. Most of the chain stores are out of the downtown but nearby so convenient. The Grand Hotel is very clean, comfortable, has a great complimentary breakfast, and overlooks Monument Square, which was all lit up with holiday lights when we visited.

    I grew up there and was visiting family.

    I grew up there and was visiting family. There are some good places now to eat and drink, plus it's fun to see how it has changed since you lived there. People in Ohio are very friendly and there are quite a few artisan type shops downtown if you're looking for gifts.

    This is a lovely small town, just south of a large state...

    This is a lovely small town, just south of a large state park. It has a super cute "town center" and we were able to enjoy a Saturday morning farmer's market. There is an absolutely gigantic park just south of the main part of town which we spend a lot of time biking through. Most definitely unique and a reason to visit this town if you enjoy biking through really well planned parks. The main bike trail which takes you far north (to Cleveland?) and all the way to Cincy goes right through the center of town. There is a small hotel right on the trail for those wanting to jump right on the trail from your accommodations (although biking anywhere there doesn't seem like a struggle - not exactly major traffic).

    I am very comfortable in Mount Vernon as my daughter and son...

    I am very comfortable in Mount Vernon as my daughter and son-in-law went to college there. During their college years it was under construction. It was nice to experience it "done." Very nice little town.
