The place is very clean and well-maintained, and the staff is incredibly welcoming. They offer bottomless coffee and water in the lobby, along with a selection of delicious baked goods available from 7 to 11 a.m. I particularly enjoyed the freshly baked banana loaf, which is available daily. The staff was very accommodating with my late checkout request and truly goes out of their way to ensure you have everything you need. Their friendliness made me feel right at home. Additionally, it's close to downtown LA and the convention center, just a 30-minute walk away, with plenty of nearby grocery stores and shops.

From the moment we arrived staff exceptional. Overnight staff helped me solve a coffee issue for a 4 am call I took in the lobby and Jorge at the front door made our last moments great. Movies in the pool and fantastic (not included) breakfast at the restaurant reasonably priced for what we saw in LA

A very nice and exquisite boutique hotel in Hollywood, right next to some boutique apartments, and landmarks down the Hollywood Hills, walkable towards TCL Chinese Theater. I am very fortunate to stay in the room named after Bette Davis, which you will find is how they label their room. The room is absolutely stunning in Chinoiserie Style, with all the decorations on point. The staff is friendly and helpful. Had the most amazing stay in Hollywood that I would not forget.

From start to finish, the staff were first class all the way and made our stay. They were thoughtful, attentive, and anticipated every possible wish with a smile. We truly could not think of a single thing they could have improved. The hotel is full of charming details and the room is both cosy and luxurious which is a pretty hard feat to pull off.

I've been dreaming of staying here for years and finally splurged for my birthday. It was worth every penny. I was upgraded to an ocean view room, and was sent chocolate covered strawberries and prosecco, treated like a princess, and provided perfectly professional, warm, and courteous, brilliant service. Thank you to all the staff, especially Angel at the front desk for all your kindness on my birthday. The room, the bedding and bed, the view, the amenities, the bathtub, the working desk, the lighting, all were tasteful and well designed and incredibly comfortable. Don't change a thing. Also loved the plush bathrobes, and all the resort extras, from free bikes on loan, to a local car service, to complimentary drinks, to morning yoga, all included.

We read all the great reviews before coming and still, this place managed to exceed all our expectations. It truly is West Hollywood's hidden gem, in a great location, with a lot of lovely character. The place is incredibly quiet and peaceful, the beds are unbelievably comfortable. The studio is squeaky clean and we loved that the communication about housekeeping was seamless and always convenient. The kitchenette is superbly well-equipped which made us very happy and we enjoyed home-cooked breakfasts every morning. The bathroom was spacious and the shower very modern. The parking is also very convenient. While we felt like it's a little bit on the pricier side, you really are getting an amazing experience and comfort for your money and we'd take The Charlie over any traditional LA hotel any time. We hope to come back one day.

FAQs about hotels in Los Angeles

City of Angels

Exploring Los Angeles, the place where movies are made, you feel like you’re in a dream. Santa Monica Pier is the end point of the fabled Route 66, while just south is bohemian Venice Beach, lined by tall, swaying palms. Go slightly inland from the boardwalk to catch a glimpse of the canals that earned the area its name.

Head north to the golden beach and stunning scenery of Malibu and see why movie stars over the decades have settled here. Also popular with the rich and famous are Bel Air and Beverly Hills, home to exclusive Rodeo Drive.

And the reason for all this glitz and glamour? Hollywood, of course! Sitting high on a hill, the iconic sign is visible for miles around, while below the gold stars on Hollywood Boulevard immortalize celebrities of past and present.  Be there on premiere night to see them grace the red carpet of Grauman’s Chinese Theater.

Over the hill is Universal Studios, with behind-the-scenes tours as well as rides. Next door are the Warner Brothers Studios, and Paramount Studios are closer to Downtown LA.

Whether you decide to live like a star in a luxury LA hotel or choose a cheap motel through Booking.com, it’s worth renting a car to get around this sprawling city and out to Los Angeles Airport (LAX).

When the time of our check out, my daughter forgot our mangoes in the table, she realized it when she came down , I was at the reception area to check out, so my daughter told me she go back to the room to get her mangoes, but sad to say, the room cleaner said , there was no mangoes at the table. Can you imagine in less that 5 mins the mangoes are all gone, so I’m just curious, every time we request for a makeup room, what are the possibilities of them the room cleaner attendants , for being honest & not taking any items from our luggage or shopping bag once we just leave it on the floor . That’s the only problem I encountered in your hotel. Honestly up to now I’m still worried if I lost something or not.

    California is amazing!

California is amazing! So much to do and explore you couldn’t possibly get bored! It’s a very beautiful place. You get the ocean, beaches, beautiful sunsets, piers, mountains rains, snow , lots of exercise lol the landscaping and the Spanish style homes and the way it’s all nestled tightly in the sides of mountains where everywhere there’s a view. California is beautiful and the and that makes the traffic worth it!! California just got it right!! But why wouldn’t they???!! Hmmmm

I've been to LA several times -- it is a city with many, many neighborhoods and experiences -- the beach at Santa Monica, Pasadena, driving down palm tree-lined streets, great and unusual museums, Hollywood, unique and fun architecture, great fusion food. Everytime I go I find something fun and exciting to experience.

Los Angeles is a wonderful place to visit, especially in the Fall through Spring (Oct-March), but much like the postcards you find at gift shops on Hollywood Boulevard, the view is not always as picture-perfect in between those iconic shots. L.A., in particular, has its contrasting images. The filth, graffiti, and rundown properties are not so well hidden from sight. Los Angeles does a better job than most cities at showcasing its glitz and glamour, so be prepared to see less of one and more of the other. It's in those spaces between where much of L.A.'s magic can be discovered with its people, places, and things to do.

Thus far, getting in/out of LAX has been worse than any airport. Waiting for car rental shuttle, waiting for car rental, getting out of LAX. Hit-n-Miss hotel accommodations. Public transportation seems to be adequate, perhaps this is the way to get around. We'll provide update on our next trip.

Close to museums and downtown area. Clean rooms. Lots of places to eat around the hotel. A beautiful vegan restaurant across the street with smoothies and great breakfasts that are healthy. (not a vegan but liked it). A specialty sausage restaurant, noodle bar. Good room with a couch and a fridge. Hanging space. Moe on reception was great. Great little hotel with exposed brick walls and red highlights. Secure door. Cool street art around the surrounding streets. Parking nearby was cheap. Would stay again.

Amazing location and little hotel. Was a little nervous about the area or the inn but upon arrival, staff was super nice and the rooms were really big for LA standards. Price paid was perfect too. It's also 10 mins walk from Venice beach with lots to do at anytime of day. A supermarket around the corner too. Came with its own parking for $25 a night, but I think if you can do it, street side parking is also available for cheaper.
