It's obvious the owners Wendy and Doc put a lot of love into their lodge. The grounds are manicured leading up to the bank of the Guadalupe river. Our room was clean and comfortable. We would definitely stay again.

I loved staying here, it was the perfect space to get away from day-to-day life for a while. The property was clean and had all the necessary things for our stay, the bed was comfortable, the tv was ready to go and everything worked just fine. We spent a lot of time at the fire pit and the hosts home was on the same piece of land but I only ever saw them coming or going in their car. Dave was very helpful with issues that arose with Booking.com and also when the key code didn't seem to send through, he made sure that we had it quickly and was very quick at replying to texts/messages. I really enjoyed the property, it was very cute and niche and far away from everything to feel isolated but it was also very driveable to get food/go to the store/see live music or workshops in the nearby area. I would definitely stay again. Thanks, Dave, this stay meant a lot to me as it was a special weekend.

The wonderful front desk staff set the tone for our short stay. They were so friendly and helpful, offering us complimentary water on a very hot Texas day. The hotel is easy to find, spacious, clean and plentiful parking. The room was very comfortable and we had a nice view from the window. And my daughter was so happy to discover the Texas-shaped waffle maker at breakfast; thank you for that bit of fun!

    I called to say my clothes were left in the closet, and the lady that answered said she would check and call me back. She never called me back but I went through all my clothes when I got home and there was several outfits missing. I am 100% certain one of the cleaning ladies or anyone who had access to my room took them. I am very disappointed. Don’t hire people that will steal from your customers!

    The lake was at a historic low during labor day weekend 2024...

    The lake was at a historic low during labor day weekend 2024. Luckily we're not boaters. Most boat ramps were closed and a lot of the lake activities were closed. One area was open for swimming and we had a decent time there. However going into the water I was glad to have water shoes on because there was this deep thick mud that made it very difficult to go in and out of the water. There were a lot of families with kids and some were swimming in an area where there are big rock cliffs that you can jump from to cleaner water. There are also some good places to eat. We ate at Elio's Italian restaurant and the food was delish! Our main visit was to the Gorge that was carved during the flood of 2002 and that walking tour was amazing. Also the walk over the Dam was very nice We adjusted and were very happy with our trip.

    Canyon Lake is a great little place to stay.

    Canyon Lake is a great little place to stay. Loved the area which we hadn’t visited before. Didn’t get to go to the live music at Brookshire Brothers but hopefully can in the future. We came at the right time of the year to see the flowers and of course the lake is beautiful to see. There is so much to do within an hour or less drive from Canyon Lake so, you can be away from some of the fast pace but close enough to go to those areas and visit the wineries or shop in some unique places.

    place needs TLC and attention to detail . we manage VAC rentals in New Orleans. A book with details of the area, recommendation's, restaurants attractions, local map etc. Owner is sweet! Seems new to the business. Needs some help and encouragement. Lawn man cut the grass while we were trying to sleep and ran the weed whacker next to my car and stuck grass all over the sides! do it in the middle of the day or at least ask guests to move their car

    we stayed for one night, my wife got stung in the face by a scorpion, then we find bed bugs in our bed. was supposed to be a relaxing two day getaway with my wife. Was not the case at. we have reached out to the help desk multiple times and no response. we even told the staff on premises and she laughed.. such a shame. nice place, nice location. poorly maintained.

    Would only recommend for someone wanting to stay longer than 2 days so they could have the bathroom water issue fixed. Not for someone unless they want to drive to an from (with wet bathing suit) the pool
