Great castle and museum - with amazing Roman artifacts and a splendid view from the battlements. The undercover market was huge and cool in the heat. The water show at 21:00 each evening was excellent Easy to get about on small buses cost 50p for entire journey. The older part of the town has some decent restaurants and shopping. The new quarters to the west are tourist "industry" purely. To the west is a smaller place called Icmeler, which is more cosy and less expensive. Some of the better resorts can be found there. Marmaris bay is a lovely setting, but very noisy during the daytime, because of the many people killing their time with motorized activities.. The rooms are spacious and the bed is really comfy. It’s a 2 min walk to the beach and has plenty of shops around the hotel, the town centre is a 15 min walk away or 5 mins in a taxi. So everything you need is close. The staff are all polite and friendly which makes your stay more welcoming. The view was amazing and I loved the balcony with seating and sun loungers. The food was amazing and so much choice. The entertainment was good too. This is an all inclusive hotel and the local drinks and cocktails were good. I spent most of the day at the beach pontoon with the beach bar just across the path.
