- A lovely peaceful location in a quiet part of the island - Just a 5-min walk to a nice, clean and swimmable beach with great sunset views - You can also walk 15-20mins to a crystal clear river which you can also swim in - Super tasty food (tofu rice soup ❤️) and drinks (Masala Chai and Thai Tea ❤️) from the in-house restaurant - Bungalows were simple but cute and totally fine for the stay - The hosts are very friendly and helpful - The communal seating area at the restaurant is very well thought out and a cosy place to hang out during the day and in the evenings We had a great time here! Thank you ❤️

Wonderful place to stay when in Koh Chang. The huts are simple but very clean and comfortable. You get a hammock as well to relax in front of your hut. It's just a couple of minutes walking to the beach. And 4 minutes to the pier with plenty of shops, restaurants and booking agencies for trips around the island and ferries to neighbouring islands. Absolutely recommend this place, stayed 5 days and it was perfect. Also the Pippin restaurant in front is delicious and cheap

I cannot recommend this place enough! From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed with such warmth and kindness by the incredible hosts, Lily and Steve. They are truly the heart and soul of this paradise, going above and beyond to make my stay perfect. Their hospitality is unmatched—thoughtful, friendly, and always ready with great recommendations to make the most of my time on the island. The residence itself was absolutely spotless. Every detail was carefully maintained, making it one of the cleanest and most comfortable places I have ever stayed during my travels around SEA. You can tell that Lily and Steve put so much love and effort into creating a peaceful and relaxing retreat. And the atmosphere—just magical. Whether I was lounging in the serene surroundings, enjoying the beauty of nature, or simply soaking in the calmness of the place, every moment felt like a dream. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The ratings for this place are absolutely deserved. In my opinion, the quality of the stay, the exceptional cleanliness, and the outstanding hospitality easily match the standards of a 4-star hotel. it’s been three weeks since we left Baan Chan Lay, but as one of our most memorable stays in Thailand, I feel I have to leave a review. Baan Chan Lay is truly a unique experience—not just because of its location and cozy vibe, but because of the way the two owners go above and beyond to make you feel at home. Their hospitality is heartfelt, effortless, and genuinely welcoming. When we weren’t reading a book while overlooking the bay or enjoying a peaceful, complimentary canoe ride, the warm and inviting living room atmosphere encouraged interaction with other guests, creating a sense of community. We had the smallest room, barely big enough for a bed, but with a TV (including Netflix) and a stunning view, it turned out to be one of the coziest and most charming stays we’ve ever had.
