The owners are very friendly and kind people! They made us feel very welcome and comfortable.The place was divine ,quiet nice area with lovely big pool and great accommodation.Very good money for value I have to say ,shame we couldn't stay longer but will definitely be back. Very spacious, very clean, modern apartment, equipped with all the necessities for a comfortable stay. Located in a pleasant location with great views. It's worth noting that it's on the second floor and there is no lift. We communicated with the host remotely, he was very helpful in all respects. We'd definitely stay here again if we were in the area.

IKEA styled house. Extreemely comfortable, and cosy. Freshly decorated countryhouse. A small terrace to chill before sunset. A nice garden around. Very secluded place - far away from noises and rush. Views on green hills around. Comfy beds. A lot of spare pillows and blankets. Everything is stylish, minimalistic and white. Calmness, birds singing, fruit trees with fruits. Everything is for our comfort in the kitchen. We got even a billiard / snooker room. Another perfect stay. Thank you!!!

I suspect the owners of this apartment have inherited lots of furniture from relatives, which they can't bear the thought of parting with, as the apartment is stuffed with old heavy dark wood furniture. What's nice about it that in each of the bedrooms the suites are different and they were obviously quality items in their time - solid wood with nice finishing touches to the bed-heads and wardrobes. I loved it, taking me back to my childhood, and am pleased that rather than being thrown on the rubbish dump, they have been given a new lease of life as well as giving the younger generation a feel of what it was like living in their grandparents' time! The apartment is very spacious with a large sitting area and a decent sized kitchen area which had most things one needs for a short stay. One thing I found odd (and not only here but many places in Portugal) was that a coffee machine was provided (but you have to have the right capsules to use it) but no kettle! The bed was fine and the linen acceptable (and fine given the price) and the water was piping hot. Internet was a bit of a problem. In the living area I could only get an unsecured line which was very slow - the recommended wifi wouldn't connect. I discovered eventually that at the end of the second bedroom (above the cafe) the secured connection worked fine. There is a large roof terrace with a couple of tables and chairs and this is great as it manages to get the sun from the morning through till sunset. So if you are an outdoors person, like me, then you are in seventh heaven with sunshine for both breakfast and drinks in the evening. The position of the apartment is great. The cafe/restaurant downstairs has odd hours - it only opens at 11am and closes at 2am, which seems very peculiar for such a small place. The food is good and inexpensive. For those rising earlier there is an excellent bar/cafe a stroll down the hill with a very well stocked small supermarket opposite.

    Well we enjoyed Vila do Rei because it was calm, small pace, friendly people and great for walks in nature. I recomend the Centro Geodesico and the river beach of Penedo Furado are a must visit. The views are beautiful and give you a glimpse of nature’s colors at it’s finest.

    Our hosts were wonderful and went above and beyond to be helpful and welcoming. The accommodation was equally amazing. We stayed in a well equipped and comfortable cottage that is tastefully decorated and exceptionally clean. Kim and Stef made sure we had plenty firewood to keep our fireplace going during cooler November days. The location is very quiet and tranquil and we would recommend this guest house to anyone who is looking for laid back relaxing stay in a beautiful location. The region is absolutely gorgeous.
