Loved our stay here! Owner and staff were very welcoming and friendly. Room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. We had a ground floor with porch looking directly at ocean, beach just a few steps across the street. Long beautiful beach, great for walking.

Lovely well designed apartments. Very spacious. Directly across from beach. Swimming pool was nice and warm too. There was even a gym which was awesome. Apartment was fully equipped and some. Loved the fact that there was also a washing machine and dryer. Gentleman at reception (sorry bad with names) was very friendly. Greated us at the reception desk. Was very friendly and welcoming. Once checked in he directed us to parking garage. Walked down to where we could park and then showed us to the unit.

I had such a lovely stay with Miria & Taroi who received me with open hearts after my friend had to cancel on our trip due to covid. Their place is a little oasis right next to the beach, perfect to unwind & get inspired!

    Ohope Beach is perfect!

    Ohope Beach is perfect! Great for long walks or biking, surfing and swimming. The beach is also patrolled by life guards. There is a great cafe, Moki, which does great coffee and food with good service. It is relatively quiet which is great if you want a very relaxing weekend. Lots of people on the beach just chilling. There is an excellent bush walk from the bottom of the hill at Ohope beach. Whakatane is a 5 minute drive over the hill if you want to go shopping or have a walk along the river. Try the best fish and chips in NZ from Gibbos on the wharf in Whakatane.

    Access to the beach is easy. It's an easy walking beach. Cafes close if you require caffeine or a nice meal. Never seems overcrowded in the times I have been there. Close to Whakatane if some retail therapy required although there are several lovely shops in Ohope.

    Ohope beach is a perfect spot for relaxing, lovely clean golden sand beaches and beautiful bush walks all close to the village. If you are fit the walk down to Otarawairere is a must. As is the fisherman"s wharf restaurant and Cadera for cocktails and dessert. Oh and dont forget to take the short trip to Whakatane and explore.

    Great beach.

    Great beach. Long and wide and quiet with nice sand to walk on. The area had a nice friendly vibe. Pretty basic eating options but Whakatane is close by for more options. Golf course looks fabulous but i didn't play this time. Will pack the clubs for next visit for sure.

    It was peak season but the wait time at the restaurants was not too bad. We ate at Cadera and Moxi Cafe. I would recommend the jalapeno poppers and chili margaritas at Cadera and the keto breakfast at Moxi. All the food looked incredible at Moxi, I really wanted to try the cheese scone but resisted....

    Ohope was great to stay at and we could drive to other areas...

    Ohope was great to stay at and we could drive to other areas during our stay and also there were some good restaurants to eat at which of course we did. Lots of areas to walk if you enjoy that type of holiday and of course the beach when it is nearer the summer. We went to the Cadera Mexican restaurant in Ohope and really enjoyed the food. We went twice to the Fishermans Wharf and the food was great.

    Moanarua Beach Cottage is a little gem located in a quiet residential area but within a 3 minute walk to the fantastic Ohope beach. Miria and Taroi went out of their way to make our stay as memorable as possible and their welcome drink upon arrival really was a nice gesture. The breakfast provided by Miria, including home made preserves really was more than we had expected and just perfect to start the day!

    Wonderful location. Ohope Beach region is one of the best spots we visited on NZ north island. The apartment is even nicer than the photos indicate. Our host arranged the "best view" of the available apartments :) ...also, I always appreciate the consumables available in accommodation that I book, i.e, paper-towel in the kitchen, ground coffee and a plunger and a generous jug of milk :)

    The location was perfect for walking down to the beach and easy access to all of Ohope beach and Host Paul encouraged us to use the sunporch looking out to the ocean. Paul and Lee were wonderful Hosts and made us very welcome. The Unit had everything we needed and all very clean and tidy. Lovely stay at this place.

    Beachpoint is everything and more. We had a 2 bedroom apartment which was brilliantly appointed and well thought out. The sunny deck with the epic view out across Ohope Beach was my favourite spot. The Managers were very friendly and helpful. It was great having 2 covered car parks.
