We stayed at this hotel for one night on our way to Geiranger. We booked a room with two queen beds for three people, but it was nothing like the pictures shown on the website. The room was dark, outdated, and extremely small. There wasn’t even enough space to open the luggage for three people. We paid almost $350 for one night, but it wasn’t even up to the standard of a one-star hotel. On the day of arrival, we received an email instructing us to pick up the key from a pizza shop next to the hotel instead of the reception, and we never saw anyone at the reception during our stay. The next day, we called the hotel several times to check out, but no one answered, and we never received a call back. We were looking for something between Flam and Geiranger and...
We were looking for something between Flam and Geiranger and Stryn seemed like a good option, sounded like it had more going on that other towns but that was not the case. Hotel we stayed at was nice, quaint but dated, would recommend staying in Loen or Olden - seem to have more going on, newer more modern hotels and closer to sights. I would highly recommend to stay here if you are visiting Stryn. Landlord Anders was very kind and good person. He assisted well through out our stay. View was awesome, food was real tasty. The town was very welcoming, in every shop and restaurant we visited the people welcomed us with smiles. The best part was driving around the lakes and fjords that are adjacent to the city. We decided to take a half day and drove around Lake Lovatnet, so glad we did. The lake and shores were so beautiful, just breathtaking. It rained in the afternoon so we went to the Viking museum. It was a small museum with the main exhibit being a complete replica of a Viking ship, constructed as they were so long ago. A little high priced but nice. And a neat shop. The room was smelly, the bathroom tiny and no air conditioning. On top of that, the city had a festival which was exactly near the so called hotel which lasted all night.
