Lovely place. Everyone very friendly. Sea great for gentle swimming; beautiful light in walks along lungomare, thanks to east-west orientation. Temple above Terracina a wonderful place to visit and look down from; another temple in Terracina itself, and a small Roman theatre, also full of interest. We were in Terracina the last two weeks of June.
We were in Terracina the last two weeks of June. We experienced a local feel with few tourists. the old town is fantastic. We rented electric bikes, which is recommended. Then you can get around easily. A trip up to the temple went like a dream in the heat. We also cycled out to the Cantina Sant'Andrea winery. It took approx. one hour one way. A wonderful trip and a great visit where we tasted many good wines. One should also enter a trip to Ponza. The ferry departs from the city centre. An incredibly cozy island. We chose to rent a boat when we were out there, so that we could take a trip to the outside of the island and swim in the crystal clear water. It was magical! The flat was recently renovated, has a private entrance and is very spacious & air-conditioned. The host was beyond accomodating and offered to pick me up from the station. There is a small balcony with a gorgeous view which was my highlight. The walk to the beach was picturesque, best restaurants in Terracina are just 2 minutes walk away and so are old town ruins, well maintained by the city.
