This is a rather typical, local Calabrian town.
This is a rather typical, local Calabrian town. If you're looking for a tourist destination where you can buy souvenirs and eat pizza in a bar geared towards international tourism, this is not the place for you. However, if you like local experiences, authentic cuisine and meeting nice, friendly people, then this is the place for you. Bear in mind that from time to time, you will need to step out of your comfort zone, talk to people in Italian and adapt to the local way of life. We booked a room here at 10 pm and were there at 10:30 pm checking in. The owner was amazing and ensured we had a great stay. The hotel is brand new with spacious modern rooms. They also serve a lovely breakfast. We definitely plan on staying here again. This is by far the best hotel in the San Ferdinando, Gioia Tauro region.
