A Capital of Design and Style

Renowned as the world’s fashion and design capital, Milan is never short on places to see and things to experience. The stunning architecture of the Duomo di Milano and the famous La Scala theatre are just a few of the city’s breath-taking attractions. For a more intimate adventure, the Convent of Santa Maria delle Grazie with Leonardo da Vinci's “Last Supper” lets you view a masterpiece from Italy’s past.

Visit the FieraMilano and Salone del Mobile, among the world’s largest and most prestigious furniture and design fairs or have a stroll in the Quadrilatero Della Moda district to admire unique creations from the most famous Italian fashion brands: Gucci, Versace, Armani, Prada or Dolce & Gabbana.

The Navigli and Porta Romana districts are famed for restaurants and bars serving delicious Lombard cuisine and the very popular aperitivo. Make sure you try sweet delicacies at the chic Caffé Cova, founded in 1817, or another historical café, Zucca, in the Galleria.

Arriving at Malpensa or Linate Airports, you’re only a short trip from the city centre, where you can watch a game at the San Siro or enjoy Milan Fashion Week. Whether you’re staying in a chic apartment, design hotel or budget hostel, Booking.com has a perfect accommodation for your Milan holiday.

The Naviglio canal area has a cool vibe, a must for night goers, and just a short walk to the Vittorio Emanuelle shopping area and the Duomo, the Duomo was beautiful but quite expensive to go on the roof , but a must when in Milan, flat shoes necessary as streets cobbled

Transport to and from Malpensa airport is cheaper and quicker by bus rather than train, if travelling locally by train e.g. Bergamo. Get a ticket from the Transnord office (green signage) preferably the day before! The big guys like Trenitalia will just send you there. Platform details are posted about 10 minutes , Centrale has 20 platforms, ending in 4; 1-3 are further up

Milan is a great city and going to the lakes is a must! Como, Majore and Garda are exceptionally beautiful. The city has many attractions, very good transport and the people are really polite and helpful!! We are grateful to Milanese people for their hospitality.

    What a beautiful, elegant city.

What a beautiful, elegant city. Tree lined streets and fairytale housing. Almost all the buildings were decorative in some way. The Duomo is absolutely stunning! The Galleria is nice if you have a lot of money to spend , otherwise visit the Castello and walk in the lovely parks.

Too busy. Lots of graffiti and overflowing bins.

Too busy. Lots of graffiti and overflowing bins. Lots of lovely restaurants however very limited for lunch or snacks. Ok if you wanted a meal during the day. Very limited Gluten Free options, and not all restaurants had that option. Very little tourist information. No signs to direct to anything, so you had to rely on the internet or guide books. Hop on off bus gave you lots of information however you couldn't see them from the bus. Had to get off and then try and find them.

Research Milan for what you want to do first!

Research Milan for what you want to do first! It makes it easier to get around. We wanted to stay near a busy area with bars and restaurants. Great transport links but also easy enough to walk around the city if that's your thing. Definitely go to a football game if you enjoy football, great atmosphere. Backdoor 43 is an unreal cocktail bar and visit Gelateria Umberto 1934 for an afregato! The duomo is worth doing but don't get your hopes up too much! Inside the catherdral was much more worth viewing than the rood terraces. Cocktails can be pricey on main areas but super tasty. Look out for apperitivo hours from around 5pm-9pm ish where each drink comes with snacks, a meat/cheese board and sometimes a buffet! Lake Como is just a 50 min train ride away, definitely worth visiting but actually better when the weather isnt the best as it can get super busy.

The apart hotel location is as central as it gets and you will be able to go around the city centre of Milan by foot. However, there is very good public transport such as trams and metro that will allow you to travel easily to most locations. The apartment was decent size and modern, including most basic amenities. There are plenty of shops, cafes and restaurants in the immediate vicinity and beyond.

Well presented hotel to the north of the city centre. Only a short walk to the Metro which gives easy access to the whole of Milan. Very helpful staff and rooms well equiped.
