Everything It was a pleasure staying at Villa Ruza apartment. The home stay is situated in a beautiful and serene neighbourhood of Luka port. The sunset view from the apartment was so beautiful. The apartment was big and extremely comfortable. It was very well equipped with everything and very well furnished - it’s like living in one's own home. The hosts (Dario and Ljubica) were incredibly gracious and generous. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was enjoyable, offering home cooked lunch and dinner and refusing payment. They bought the Mali Ston Bay oysters, on our request, at a fraction of the price that restaurants charge. Their warmth and generosity made me feel like part of the family. They showed us their family photos and we communicated even though we didn't speak the same language. I highly recommend Villa Ruza apartment to anyone seeking a peaceful and comfortable retreat especially after the noisy and crowded Dubrovnik.

Our host told us that the town of Ston was "safe" and how right she was !! Walking about the town you really get the absolute sense of calm compared to either Dubrovnick or Split, both of which are within driving distances. Lovely clean and comfortable accommodation with nice personal interactions with the host. Our host has excellent customer relations and we wish her the best of luck with her business.

It was in a beautiful location. Quiet little village on the water. Tiny beach opposite, we swam and had less than 1 minute walk back to the apartment. Parking was close to the flat. Balcony was nice and secluded, shaded with vines.

The staff were really friendly and family based. The location is perfect, a parking area is just outside the hotel's reception and you will be given a free parking ticket for the whole stay. The hotel is in a perfect location to stroll around the village by foot. The hotel has a unique and quiet panoramic view of the port. Moreover the hotel's restaurant is wonderful, enjoying a great view and mouth watering food!

I think Mali Ston became my new favorite little spot of tranquility and zen. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and the hosts Martina and her husband were super welcoming and accomodating. Kitchen had everything we need and we could easily prepare food. We had lots of towels which I really appreciated. The house was located in between other old authentic stone houses and every morning and evening we sat at a little terrace, hidden in the shade enjoying the smell of morning coffee mixed with the smell of salt and flowers. Very quiet little village and place where you can really rest. If you are looking for the adventure you can find planty of it. One day we took morning 7am ferry to NP Mljet where we stayed the whole day. I highly recommend visiting this amazing island. The other day we walked the old Walls of Ston. Even though it's a small village it's full of history and historical monuments. And you can try delicious food in one of the famous Croatian restaurants Kapetanova kuća.

    We loved Ston!

    We loved Ston! The little town and the wall walk were awesome. We loved our location and the restaurant was delicious! Our room was very good. All the people in the town that we met were wonderful and many people helped us out when our car broke down. We had a great time!

    Ston was an interesting place to break up the trip from...

    Ston was an interesting place to break up the trip from Split to Dubrovnick. It was a disappointment as far as the oysters were concerned, being the oyster center for Croatia. They were just extremely expensive and there were no deals to enjoy them at a decent price. If we had more time we would have gone to an island instead...

    We really enjoyed our time in Ston, it is nice and small, yet full of amazing history and things to do. The hike up the wall of Ston to Mali Ston was great and not too difficult. Beautiful sights from the top!

    I incorrectly mentioned that it was an old Bari, when, in fact, I meant mali Ston was in a nice quiet section of mali ston definitely would visit again, and Marita was an amazing hostess, couldn’t say enough about her and the accommodations excellent

    Historic town with impressive (and impressively long) walls.

    Historic town with impressive (and impressively long) walls. Ston is a much smaller, calmer, quieter, and more authentic version of many of the overly touristy walled old towns along the coast. Large sections are still not renovated however. The town has a few shops but mostly cafes/restaurants and locals housing. Lacks the luxury shops and glitz of Dubrovnik but also the crowds. A bit overpriced to walk the walls but presumably the entry fee helps with further repairs and restoration. The (still) working salt flats are interesting and they have opportunities to join in the harvesting. The city parking lots outside the walls are all paid which seems shortsighted and silly if they really want to bring in tourism.

    history, great local wine and food, clear blue sea and no crowds; vacation as it should be :) the area is famous for oysters and mussels and many restaurants serve them from their own farms; not to be missed; the hike over the city walls (connecting Ston and Mali Ston) offers great views over the area, oyster farms, salt panes and isles...on both sides of the wall hike are very nice restaurants offer freshest sea food and light, local wine - just what you need on a hot day

    Excellent and warm welcome. The host are smiling and very pleasant. The host offers us watermelon from his garden and cooked for us delicious mussels which is the specialty from Ston. The apartment is very clean and well located in relation to the city center. You can park your car at the apartment. Excellent. To book without hesitation.
