A unique travel destination, especially for people who love nature, avoiding crowds and hiking. Above all, the particularly worthy effort made for the Revival of Vamvakou deserves congratulations! Small and quiet mountain village.
Small and quiet mountain village. Together with the rest of the villages in the area, is trying to be reborn. Events are organized on a regular basis and there are outdoor activities that everyone can enjoy like hiking, strolling, cycling (the mountain trails are organized). There is a restaurant and a coffee shop at the main square where you can easily rub shoulders with the locals and the rest of the visitors. Vamvakou is a beautiful village with a nice plaza, away from...
Vamvakou is a beautiful village with a nice plaza, away from the road, to enjoy your food and coffee. It also has a nice playground for kids, with variety of stuff for many ages, even with a huge chess. We visited Vamvakou with our one-year old son and he enjoyed running around, since it was safe from cars. There were steep alleys to get around, but you could also go by car from the main road.
